Students Activities & Clubs

NSS

The college has two units of National Service Scheme sponsored by Anna University with a total sanctioned strength of 200 volunteers. Participation in NSS is mandatory for the first and second year students. The NSS volunteers are required to involve in Social Service activities, camps and special campaign activities. An orientation course is conducted for the volunteers. Students who work as volunteers for two years will be awarded a certificate issued by the University. NSS actitvites aim at instilling discipline, promoting culture, forming character building and developing personality through community services.

CSI

The Computer Society of India was started in the year 1965 with a handful of IT enthusiasts who were a computer user group and felt the need to organize their activities. Through this society they wanted to share their knowledge and exchange ideas in the emerging areas. Today, the CSI takes pride in being the largest and most professionally managed association for IT Professionals in India. The purposes of the society are scientific and educational directed towards the advancement of the theory and practice of the computer science and IT. The organization has grown upto the size of 100,000 strong members consisting of Professionals with varied backgrounds including Software Developers, Scientists, Academicians, CIO’s, CTO’s, Project Managers & IT vendor’s to just name a few. It has spread its branches all over the country. Currently, it’s having more than 500 student branches and rooted firmly at 73 different locations.

Blood Donors' Club

The college has a Blood Donors’ Club with more than 250 volunteers. Blood donation camps are organized regularly and especially on the eve of the Founder’s Birth anniversary. The volunteers of this club are sent to hospitals to donate blood during emergencies.
Every year, the blood donors club of our college organized a blood donation camp to commemorate the Birth Anniversary of the Founder of the college Kalvi Thanthai  Late  Thiru. R.S.Kothandaraman in the college premises. On this occasion,  a group of more than 250 students and staff donated their blood.
Our college Blood donors’ club has consistently participated in donating blood to the community in case of emergency and whenever the need arises. To appreciate this service, Regional Blood Transfusion and Research  centre at Meenakshi Mission Hospital , Madurai praised our institution and presented a memento to our college.

Rotaract

Rotaract originally began as a Rotary International youth program in 1968 at Charlotte North Rotary Club in Charlotte, North Carolina, United States, and has grown into a major Rotary-sponsored organization of over 9,539 clubs spread around the world and 219,397 members.It is a service, leadership, professional and community service organization. Clubs around the world also take part in international service projects, in a global effort to bring peace and international understanding to the world."Rotaract" stands for "Rotary in Action", although the name originally comes from a combination of "Rotary" and "Interact" (International + Action), the high school level program created by Rotary International. The purpose of Rotaract is to provide an opportunity for young men and women to enhance the knowledge and skills that will assist them in personal development, to address the physical and social needs of their communities, and to promote better relations between all people worldwide through a framework of friendship and service
