GATEway to Success - A Comprehensive Seminar for Aspirants - The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, in association with The Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers (IETE), Paavai Engineering College, organized a seminar titled “GATEway to Success – A Comprehensive Seminar for Aspirants” on 04.08.2025. The seminar aimed to empower students and aspirants with the right mindset, skills, and strategies required to achieve academic and professional success through GATE (Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering). The session commenced with a welcome address by Ms. K. Jesika, II Year ECE, followed by the introduction of the resource speaker by Mr. B. G. Madhavan, II Year ECE. The Presidential address was delivered by Dr. K. Selvi, Dean Academics, who emphasized the importance of the GATE examination and the diverse career opportunities it opens up for engineering graduates. The Keynote address was given by Mr. S. Mani Mohan Trinath, who shared valuable technical insights on competitive examinations, career paths, and practical strategies for success. He also stressed the importance of developing the right attitude and consistent preparation. The seminar featured an introductory session on career opportunities available for Electronics and Communication Engineers through GATE, along with motivational stories of successful aspirants who rose to great heights through perseverance and hard work. The event witnessed active participation from around 180 students, making it a highly interactive and insightful session. Students gained a clear understanding of the roadmap to success through GATE and were inspired to set focused goals for their future. The seminar concluded with a Vote of Thanks by Ms. G. Rangavi, II Year ECE. The event was convened by Dr. R. Mohana Priya, Head of the Department / ECE, and organized by Mrs. A. Samundeeswari, Associate Professor / ECE, and Mrs. A. Sujitha, Assistant Professor / ECE.
Guest Lecture on 'Angel Investment and VC Funding: Opportunities for Early-Stage Entrepreneurs' - The Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, in association with the Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC) and the Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE), organized an enlightening Guest Lecture on “Angel Investment and VC Funding: Opportunities for Early-Stage Entrepreneurs” on Saturday, 19th July 2025. The session was graced by Mrs. A. Nesapriya, MBA, Investment Advisor at Cholamandalam Securities Limited, Bangalore, who served as the distinguished guest speaker. With her extensive expertise in financial markets and startup funding, Mrs. Nesapriya delivered a comprehensive talk on the funding ecosystem for early-stage startups, including Angel Investors, Venture Capitalists, investor expectations, startup valuation methods, and fundraising strategies. She emphasized the significance of market readiness, scalability, team strength, and effective communication through pitch decks when seeking investments. The session included practical examples, real-world case studies, and interactive discussions that engaged both students and faculty members. The session proved highly beneficial for aspiring student entrepreneurs, offering valuable insights into navigating the startup investment landscape. The lecture concluded with an interactive Q&A session, during which Mrs. Nesapriya addressed various queries related to startup funding and investor networking. The Management, Principal, and organizers appreciated the speaker for her impactful presentation and the EDC/IIC team for effectively coordinating the event. This guest lecture is part of the department’s ongoing efforts to promote innovation, entrepreneurship, and industry engagement among engineering students.
