At the School of Design, Business and Technology (DBT) we believe that the designer of the future needs to be trans-disciplinary, with an ability to understand & work with concepts across multiple disciplines. We think about design beyond its current narrow definition. And hence, we draw upon various fields of study, across the arts, design, humanities, business and technology, to create well rounded creative professionals equipped to deal with complex issues. Design process involves the successful linking of creativity and innovation.  Technology is a key enabler of innovation and business is a key driver of success.  Design links creativity and innovation and shapes ideas to create practical and attractive propositions for all/people. We describe design as creativity deployed to a specific end. The environment that we inhabit is a combination of products, services and systems that make it possible for us to live in individual comfort as well as coexist. The products that we use are invariably part of a larger service and system. The design process requires a holistic understanding of people, their needs and aspirations in the context of the larger system. Uniquely positioned to help understand and interconnect dependencies between People, System and the Environment, the process enables innovation through immersion, envisioning, making, co-creation, validation, and deployment.  The School Of Design, Business & Technology (DBT) is rooted in the convergence of society, culture and business; and aims to empower one to design for the real world. We nurture creative integrity, sustain an independent practice and facilitate the creation of good business frameworks. The school engages with centers, disciplines and studios, for expressive, experimental use of cutting edge technologies. We offer opportunities to engage with industrial design, spatial design, visual communication and strategic branding, user experience and interaction design, as well as system and service design.
