Scoring 80-90 percentile in JEE Main can get students a rank between 1,50,000 to 3,00,000. Even though this rank might not get you into some top NITs like NIT Rourkela, NIT Trichy, NIT Warangal etc, it can still land you in some other NITs like NIT Mizoram, NIT Goa. Besides NITs and IIITs, other government colleges also accept 80-90 percentile in JEE Main 2026. However, you have to keep in mind that CSE admission chances will be different for the Home State quota and the Other State quota. For the latter, a rank of 5000 in JEE Mains may be on the borderline cutoff for the top NITs like Trichy, Warangal and Surathkal. But you will be eligible for B.Tech CSE at other premier institutes, especially in the newer NITs. On the other hand, if you are applying under the HS or Home State quota for CSE at NIT, your chances of getting the top 3 NITs will be much higher. On the brighter side, even if you miss your chance of securing CSE at the top 3 NITs, you will still be eligible for CSE admission into the top 10 NITs with 5k JEE Main rank in 2026.

MHT CET 2026 Registration Last Date Extended: As per the assumption, the MHT CET 2026 registration last date extended. The CET Cell, Maharashtra, will close the extended MHT CET registration on February 20, 2026. Also, the last date of application fee payment is February 20, 2026. Note that this is the last chance to fill out the MHT CET application form; post that, the candidates will not get a further opportunity to register themselves, under any circumstances.
Once the MHT CET registration window is closed, the authority will open the application form correction window tentatively in the last week of February (after 2 to 3 days of closing the application form fill-up process). The official date of the MHT CET application form correction will be announced later on the official website. As per the statistical report, a total of 3.90 lakh candidates have submitted their application form for the PCM group, and 1.34 lakh for the PCB group.
