Admission to District Institute of Education and Training, or DIET, Lucknow is governed by the centralized UP D.El.Ed process. The eligibility criteria is:

  • Must have completed graduation with at least 50% marks (45% for SC/ST candidates).
  • Must have passed 10+2 (Intermediate) from a recognized board.
  • Age should be between 18 and 35 years.

The application process is conducted online through the official website: updeled.gov.in. For 2025, the application window is expected to open in September 2025 and close in October 2025. No entrance exam is conducted for UP D.El.Ed admission. Selection is merit-based, calculated on the aggregate percentage of marks obtained in High School, Intermediate, and Graduation.

For D.El.Ed admission in District Institute of Education and Training Lucknow, each student is required to present the affidavit for admission. This affidavit is a mandatory document and shall have a notary stamp. The format of the affidavit is common for all institutes. You can visit your nearby notary public office and they will create an affidavit in the Rs 100 stamp paper. You can also contact the admission office of the DIET Lucknow to ask for admission assistance. The admission department is available on weekdays from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

hi srishti ,if you looking for undergraduate and postgraduate programs i would suggest you to once consider the lpu as well, that is located in punjab .university offers multiple scholarships to students on the basis of academic's and any achievements in extracurricular activities,defense based and financial aid scholarships are also offer by the university which may result in the reduction in tuition fee.i suggest you to call on the toll free number of university or once visit the website.admission for 2025 open you can register your profile for the same to avoid last minute rush.

Dear student, 

District Institute of Education and Training Lucknow admissions are ongoing. The institute provides admission Diploma in Elementary Education (DElEd) through counselling conducted by the UP Pariksha Niyamak Pradhikari, Government of Uttar Pradesh. The registration for counselling for admission at DIET Lucknow ended on September 5, 2023, whereas the choice filling is ongoing. If you have not registered for the counselling, you cannot participate in the choice filling. The duration of DElEd course is two years and it is offered in full-time mode. Candidates marks in bachelor’s degree are taken into consideration for DElEd admission in Uttar Pradesh colleges.
