GKM College of Engineering and Technology (GKMCET), Chennai, has a state-of-the-art campus with specialized academic blocks, well-equipped labs, and hi-tech computer centers. The campus has exhaustive facilities in the form of separate boys' and girls' hostels, a central library, and a canteen. Sports facilities include a gym, indoor games such as carrom and chess, and outdoor courts for basketball and volleyball. Other amenities include a campus ATM, Wi-Fi, and medical care, all of which help to create a learning-friendly environment.

GKMCET offers comprehensive hostel facilities within the college campus which provides a homely atmosphere. The college has a separate magnificent hostel for boys and girls with a hostel warden in each hostel to supervise day-to-day management. The College makes the best possible efforts to provide the best services and facilities within the hostels. To make the stay of the students a pleasant one they are constantly involved by organizing various events, activities, and celebrations within the hostels.

The National Cadet Corps (Army Wing) of the College functions under the guidance of Captain Asaithambi. There are presently 70 Cadets with 48 SD and 22 SW cadets.
