You can get admission to BSc Part 1 at Government Degree College, R.S. Pura, without appearing for the CUET exam, as the college offers admission to both CUET and non-CUET students and admissions are granted on merit from Class 12 marks. CUET is mandatory for many central universities for BSc admissions but Government Degree College R.S. Pura and many other state and private institutions still admit students based on their Class 12 marks or through their own entrance exams. Admission to Government Degree College R.S. Pura is offered for CUET and non-CUET candidates. The allocation cum admission is further conducted for undergraduate programmes through Jannu Kashmir Under Graduate Seat Allocation System in online mode. Next, a merit list is released containing names of students shortlisted for admission to the BSc programme. Finally, a spot round is conducted for vacant seats in the BSc programme. Unfortunately, the CSAS spot round was concluded on September 7, 2023, and the admissions are closed for the academic session 2024 with the release of the merit list and the last date of fee payment on September 16.

As per the admission criteria of the Government Degree College R.S. Pura, the CUET is not a requisite for admission to the majority of the courses. However, for technical courses, candidates have to qualify the national-level entrance tests and admissions will be granted based on the merit list.
