If you do not get a seat in JoSAA 2026, then you can try to go for the CSAB 2026 Special Rounds, which happen after all JoSAA rounds are concluded. You can go for fresh registration and a fresh choice-filling list during CSAB. Other than that, you can explore private universities or go for state-based counseling frameworks. The best advice is to always a stick till the end of the JoSAA counselling rounds and do not leave in the middle because even if the competition is tough in the initial rounds, you can make it in the final round. 

If your category certificate is rejected in JoSAA 2026, it does not necessarily mean the counselling journey is over; your seat allocation may change. If the seat that you were provided was given to you based on your category, and then your category certificate was rejected, then that particular seat will be taken away and cancelled immediately. You will get 24 to 48 hours to respond to the query of rejection, and if you can provide the corrected certificate, your seat will remain intact.
