To pursue the M.D. (Doctor of Medicine) degree at Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education & Research (JIPMER) Puducherry, candidates must meet certain eligibility criteria. Applicants should hold an MBBS degree or an equivalent qualification recognized by the Medical Council of India. They should have completed their one-year compulsory rotating internship by the end of June of the year of admission. Furthermore, candidates must be registered with the Central / State Medical Registration Council. Admission is granted based on the performance in the JIPMER PG entrance examination, which is conducted annually. Successful candidates are then called for counseling and seat allocation based on their rank.
