In the past few years, it has been observed that Law has emerged as one of the most sought after fields for pursuing higher education in India. The Bar Council of India has announced the AIBE 20 passing marks for 2025. According to the BCI, the passing marks for AIBE 20 (XX) are 45% for General and OBC candidates and 40% for SC and ST candidates. Therefore, any candidate who has taken the exam will have to score the AIBE minimum qualifying marks to successfully pass the exam.

The All India Bar Examination or AIBE 2025 was held on November 30, 2025, in an offline mode. The conducting body is expected to release the AIBE 20 exam result 2025  tentatively by Janaury or February 2026. All candidates who have appeared for the exam must be aware that scoring higher than the AIBE XX (20) passing marks is mandatory to pass the exam and become eligible for the Certificate of Practice (CoP).

The Indian Penal Code (IPC), the Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC), the Indian Evidence Act, and emerging areas like victimology, forensic evidence, criminal justice reforms, and significant rulings by the Supreme Court and High Courts are the main subjects covered by Criminal Law questions in CLAT PG 2026. In addition to being able to recall statutory provisions, candidates must be able to understand jurisprudential developments in criminal adjudication, interpret legal ambiguities, and apply them to actual factual situations. The test also assesses knowledge of legislative changes, including those pertaining to sexual offenses, bail reforms, juvenile justice, and the rights of inmates awaiting trial.

AIBE 20 Qualifying Marks 2025: The Bar Council of India has fixed the qualifying marks for the 20th edition of AIBE 2025 examination. For General and OBC candidates, the minimum required score is 45 percent, i.e., 42 marks out of the 100‑question pen‑and‑paper test. Candidates from the SC and ST categories have a lower threshold of 40 percent, meaning they need at least 37 marks to pass. These percentages are final and will not change after the exam. Candidates must note that there is no negative marking, and results will be published on the official AIBE website after the answer key is verified, and only those who meet or exceed AIBE 20 cutoff will receive the Certificate of Practice.
