MLACW Library is the nerve centre of learning. The development of Science and technology in the last two centuries has led to an information explosion. MLACW library is computerized and the whole spectrum of information retrieval is done using “EASYLIB SOFTWARE”. The library offers access to more than 55,850 books, periodicals, articles and dissertations. Networking is the latest technological advancement in library operations. It provides speedy access to online database and e-journals subscribed in the library.  The Department has the credentials of producing outstanding students in both the undergraduate and post graduate levels. The faculty is well trained for advances in modern researches. The tentative research schedule for the next five years includes Completion of the major research project sponsored by UGC (May 2009-April 2012-Ref. No. F. No. 29-37/2008 dated 19th March 2009) and to initiate a project related to insect cell culture, therapeutic protein production and Drosophila molecular biology under the guidance and supervision of Dr. Vyjayanthi. N. Research programmes in the various fields of biosciences, such as neurosciences, gerontology, molecular endocrinology, diabetes, antioxidants and free radical studies, plant biotechnology and microbiology will be investigated in detail.
