The IIT Joint Admission Test for M.Sc. (IIT JAM) is one of the most popular entrance examinations for students who want to pursue postgraduate studies in chemistry or any other courses like applied geology, Master of Science, Integrated Phd, MSc Biotechnology, MSc Mathematics, etc, at India’s top and most renowned institutes. Every year, thousands of students participate in the exam and compete for a very limited number of seats, making the exam highly competitive. Passing Marks for IIT JAM 2026: The minimum marks to qualify IIT JAM exam for the acadmemic year 2026-27 will around 8-42 for General category, 7-34 for OBC/EWS, and 4-21 for SC/ST/PwD. These numbers have been calculated using the previous year cutoff trends. These marks are called qualifying or cutoff marks. They are the least scores you need to be considered for admission into institutes like IITs, IISc, NITs, and others. Each of the seven subjects in IIT JAM - Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Mathematical Statistics, Geology, Biotechnology, and Economics - has its own qualifying cutoff. But scoring the minimum marks does not mean you will get admission. Every university decides its own final cutoff for different courses based on merit and the number of applicants, and you need to clear that cutoff to actually get admission. 

IIT JAM 2026 admission form will become available on the official website jam2026iitd.ac.in. This will happen after the scorecard is out on March 20, 2026. IIT JAM 2026 counselling is carried out as a Centralised Admission Process (CAP) for all Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs). The JAM 2026 counselling process includes admission form filling and selecting desired courses and institutes in preferential order. CUET PG 2026 Registration Advisory Released: The National Testing Agency has released an advisory notification related to the CUET PG 2026 registration. As per the notice, the candidates can complete the CUET PG 2026 registration on or before January 14, 2026 (till 11.50 PM). Eligible and interested candidates who have yet to participate in the CUET PG registration process should not miss the deadline; instead, they should visit the official website- exams.nta.nic.in/cuet-pg and submit the application form on or before the last date. Note that the CUET PG 2026 application form fill-up process will be completed only with the successful registration fee payment process.
