In 2016, the National Institute of Design Kurukshetra (NID Kurukshetra) or National Institute of Design Haryana (NID Haryana) was founded. The Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India, has established this autonomous institute with the goal of becoming one of the top centres for design education and research worldwide.
