National Institute of Fashion Technology Kolkata Eligibility Criteria

Anyone who meets the required requirements for age and education may apply for the NIFT Kolkata B.Des programme. The candidate's age should not exceed 24 as of the first day of August in the admissions year. For applicants who fall under the Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe, or Person with Disability (PWD) categories, the upper age limit may be lowered by five years.

Moreover, candidates must pass the class 12 level examination in the 10+2 pattern of examination from any recognised Central/State Board of Secondary Examination to be admitted to the Bachelor of Design (B.Des) Programs (Fashion Design, Leather Design, Accessory Design, Textile Design, Knitwear Design, and Fashion Communication).

NIFT Kolkata B.Des Selection Process

Entrance exams for the B.Des programmes will include the Creative Ability Test (CAT) and the General Ability Test (GAT). A Situation Test will be given to the candidates who made the cut after the written test.

An ideal candidate for NIFT Kolkata BF.Tech would be the one who obtained a passing score on the class 12 level exam under the 10+2 exam pattern from any recognised Central or State Board of Secondary Examination. The candidate also must be 24 years of age or less. A five-year age relaxation will be provided for

Candidates will take an entrance exam that consists of a General Ability Test (GAT) to be considered for the UG Fashion Technology programme (BF.Tech). Then the college will release a cut off list according to which admission will be granted.

There is no age limit for MF.Tech application eligibility. However, candidates need to have completed B.F.Tech. from the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) or BE / B.Tech. from any institution or university that is authorised by Indian law.

A General Ability Test will be part of the entrance exam for applicants to the MF.Tech programme (GAT). Personal Interviews are required of entrance exam shortlisted candidates (PI). There will be negative markings on the objective-style tests. For each incorrect answer, a question will receive a negative mark equal to 25% of its total score.

National Institute of Fashion Technology Kolkata MFM Eligibility Criteria

Candidates who are applying for the NIFT Kolkata MFM programme must have an undergraduate degree in any field from a college or university that is authorised by Indian law. Or an undergraduate degree from NIFT or NID that is at least three years long. Moreover, there is no age bar for MFM programmes.
