The year 2009 saw the emergence of the Regional Institute of Paramedical Technology (RIPT) group in Sonapur, Assam with a sole objective of providing world-class education in the field of Medical Sciences. An Assam Government approved institution, Regional Institute of Paramedical Technology is currently one of the most favoured institutes in the state for paramedical education. 

The Regional Institute of Paramedical Technology (RIPT) disseminates education via its three schools - Regional College of Paramedical Health Sciences, Regional College of Pharmaceutical Sciences and P Boruah School of Nursing. The RIPT Regional College of Paramedical Health Sciences was also formed in the year 2009 and is affiliated Srimanta Sankardeva University of Health Sciences. It currently offers various undergraduate, postgraduate and diploma level programmes in the field of paramedical sciences. 

The Regional Institute of Paramedical Technology (RIPT) Assam is one of the top paramedical institutions in both the entire state of Assam and in the North-Eastern region. The academic track record of RIPT Assam is excellent. 

Among several other recognitions, the P Boruah School of Nursing is approved by both the Indian Nursing Council and Assam Nursing Council. The Regional College of Pharmaceutical Sciences is affiliated to the Srimanta Sankardeva University of Health Sciences and approved by the Pharmacy Council of India.
