Silicon Institute of Technology, Sambalpur—known as Silicon West—is a top engineering college in Western Odisha that was founded in 2009. Located on a verdant 37-acre campus in Sason, Silicon Institute is affiliated to Biju Patnaik University of Technology (BPUT) and recognized by AICTE.

The Silicon Institute of Technology, Sambalpur has separate hostels for Boys and Girls., The hostels offer triple-sharing Non-AC rooms and the rooms are equipped with a bed, mattress, pillow, bed table, a chair, and a cupboard. Each hostel has a recreation room with a TV set and indoor games like carrom, chess, table tennis, etc. There are two dining halls and a cafeteria on campus serving hygienic, healthy, and freshly-cooked multi-cuisine food. Other facilities include a gym with modern equipment and a trainer, and shuttle services through a number of buses equipped with GPS and first-aid kits in view of student movement.

Infrastructure: This college's infrastructure is kept up nicely, and it offers you excellent classrooms, well-equipped computer labs, and an auditorium. This offers you a pleasant setting as well.
Hostel: Nice hostels are available. They have a pleasant atmosphere and are airy. It might also provide you with a positive experience and has good internet connectivity. Food will arrive on schedule.
ReportInfrastructure: Wi-Fi, laboratories, big classrooms with projectors in each class, libraries, etc. are there. The quality of food is amazing in our college canteen. We have good ground. And we play badminton, cricket and various other games
Hostel: College hostels are good enough and the rooms are spacious as well as cleaned and maintained throughout the days. The staff of the hostel is also good. I have seen the Hostel Infrastructure and hostel facilities like common kitchens and water coolers are well maintained.
ReportInfrastructure: Infrastructure is well maintained. Air conditioned classrooms, labs , Library , auditorium and garden for students extra curricular activities. Infrastructure is just amazing here.
Hostel: This is the best hostel where you'll feel like home. Rooms are big and clean. They are available in reasonable prices and food is also available in hostel food mess.
ReportInfrastructure: SIT - Sambalpur has well developed infrastructure for providing the clean, calm & positive environment. Classrooms are like Wow! so cleaned, developed and motivates to study.
Hostel: The rooms are average only and there are only 2 hostels , one for boy and one for girl. Rooms are Non-AC and provides triple occupancy in each room. Wardens do maintain discipline in the hostel
