Late Shri Hashu Advani, was a refugee who choose education to build a strong nation. A strong nation means a nation whose youth have high moral values. This thinking led to the formation of Vivekanand Education Society (VES) in the year 1962. Today, the society runs 22 educational Institutions offering courses from Pre-primary to Ph.D. With a mission to provide excellence in professional management education, the VES Institute of Management Studies and Research (VESIM) was established in the year 1994. It is Certified by ISO 9001:2008, and is “A” Grade awarded by Department of Technical Education (DTE) Govt. of Maharashtra. It is affiliated to University of Mumbai & its course is approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). With the legacy of two decades, VES has been quietly contributing to the growth of Indian Corporate World. The institute has been at the forefront of keeping the curriculum updated according to the need of corporate world, and industry interaction is a norm rather than exception. It is not surprising that the institute has produced some illustrious alumni who have created space for themselves either as a manager or as an entrepreneur. It goes without saying that behind this there is force of passionate faculty and support staff backed by adequate infrastructure.
Full support and guidance are provided to the students for their ‘Final’ as well as ‘Summer’ Placements. As general feedback from industry points out towards improvement in soft skills, special care is taken for students to be prepared in this aspect. Help of external agency is taken to impart training in ‘Communication’ skills. Special focus is given to impart inputs on ‘Grooming’ and ‘Corporate Etiquettes’. Students are also provided guidance as how to face ‘Interviews’ and ‘Group Discussions’ more confidently and effectively. Further, inputs are also provided on ‘Resume’ writing and resume of students are fine-tuned by the trainers on individual basis. This training has proved significant as students are better prepared to face the selection process at time of ‘Placements’.
