About VMOU Admission 2026

VMOU admission 2026 has been closed for the January session, but will soon open for the July session for UG, PG, Diploma, Certificate, and PhD programs. The university will release the admission schedule for the July session on its official website at vmou.ac.in.

VMOU conducts admissions twice a year — the January session and the July session. Courses are offered entirely through Open and Distance Learning (ODL) mode, which means no daily classes. The university is approved by UGC DEB, so degrees are valid across India for jobs and further studies.

Popular courses at VMOU include BA, BCom, BSc, BBA, BCA, B.Ed, MA, MCom, MSc, MBA, MCA, MLIS, and various Diploma programs. The admission process is merit-based for most UG and PG courses. B.Ed, MBA, MSc, and PhD require a VMOU entrance exam.

For female students, the Rajasthan government's Balika Doorasth Shiksha Yojana reimburses tuition fees for courses taken at VMOU, making education almost free for eligible women.

VMOU operates through its main campus in Kota and a network of 7 regional centres and study centres spread across Rajasthan. Students interact with faculty through weekend counselling sessions at these study centres.

VMOU is accredited with B++ by NAAC and recognized by UGC-DEB, which makes all its degrees valid for jobs and higher studies. It is one of the few state open universities with this level of accreditation.

Fees start from as low as INR 4,500 per year — one of the most affordable options in Rajasthan. For female students, the Balika Doorasth Shiksha Yojana makes it practically free.

The university has been operating since 1987 and has served lakhs of students who couldn't attend regular colleges due to work, family, or geographic constraints.

VMOU provides printed study material by post and digital e-content through its portal. You do not need to attend daily classes. Weekend counselling sessions are optional but available at regional centres.

The degree is accepted by government departments, PSUs, and most private employers across India, as it carries UGC-DEB recognition.
