Welingkar Mumbai PGDM is a 2-year, AICTE-approved, full-time programme with AIMA equivalence to an MBA. It is the institute's flagship course, available in 8 specialisations. Admission is strictly merit-based with no reservations, and the process runs in two phases between October 2025 and May 2026.

Welingkar Mumbai MMS admission is through DTE Maharashtra's CAP process. MMS is a two-year full-time course with an intake of 120 seats (+1 JK, 12 EWS, 6 TFW), offering specialisations in Finance, Marketing, Human Resource Management, and Operations.

MMS is more affordable than PGDM and carries a University of Mumbai degree. However, it requires a significantly higher MAH CET score — only the top 0.5% of CET scorers typically secure a seat at Welingkar.

Welingkar Mumbai's distance and online programmes are offered through a separate arm — Welingkar Online (welingkaronline.org). These are independent of the Mumbai campus's full-time programmes and cater to working professionals.

Welingkar Mumbai Online Courses Admission Process 2026

To apply for Welingkar Mumbai online or distance programmes, visit welingkaronline.org directly. Admission is profile-based with no entrance exam requirement for most online programmes. Registration can be done year-round for most certificate and diploma courses.

• Online Registration:
  • Go to the official Welingkar Distance Education website (welingkaronline.org).
  • Create a new student account using your basic details (Name, Email, Phone Number).
  • Select the broad category and duration of the program you wish to pursue.
• Fill the Application Form:
  • Complete your profile by entering your personal details, address, academic history, and work experience (work experience is usually optional, but good to include).
• Upload Documents: You will need to scan and upload soft copies of standard documents directly to the portal:
  • A recent colour passport-size photograph.
  • A valid government ID proof (Aadhaar, PAN, Passport, etc.).
  • Your academic mark sheets and certificates (10th, 12th, and your Degree/Diploma certificates, depending on the minimum requirement for the course level you chose).
• Fee Payment:
  • Pay the course fee online via Credit/Debit card, Net Banking, or UPI.

• Admission Confirmation & Onboarding:

Welingkar Mumbai follows two distinct admission processes — one run independently by the institute for PGDM, PGP, and PhD, and one through DTE Maharashtra's CAP process for MMS. Each Welingkar Mumbai selection process is covered in detail below.

Welingkar Mumbai PGDM Admission Process 2026 (WeSchool Direct Process)

Welingkar Mumbai PGDM admission process is profile-based. It doesn't rely solely on entrance exam scores; it considers the academic performance in Class 10, 12, and graduation, work experience, and GAPI performance, all carry weight. 

Step 1: Appear for an accepted entrance exam: Register and appear for any one of: CAT 2025, XAT 2026, CMAT 2026, ATMA (Dec 2025 or Feb 2026), or GMAT (2023 onwards). The conducting bodies have no role in WeSchool's admission process beyond providing scores. 

Step 2: Fill the online application form: Visit pgdm2026-28.welingkar.org. Create an account using your email ID. Purchase and fill the application form by paying INR 3,000 online via Debit Card, Credit Card, Net Banking, or UPI. Your form number is sent to your registered email ID — save it. 

Step 3: Enter exam scores and upload documents: Log back in to update your entrance exam scores (CAT, XAT, CMAT, ATMA, or GMAT) once results are declared. Upload scanned copies of mark sheets (10th, 12th, graduation), entrance scorecard, work experience letter (if applicable), passport photo, and ID proof. S

tep 4: Phase 1 shortlisting (profile-based calls): For Phase 1, WeSchool shortlists candidates with strong academic profiles (typically 60%+ in graduation) for GAPI calls. Phase 1 is profile-first — entrance scores matter, but strong academics can secure a GAPI call without very high percentiles. 

Step 5: Group Activity and Personal Interview (GAPI): Shortlisted candidates are called for in-person GAPI at Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore, Kolkata, or Indore centres. GAPI covers: group activity (assessing communication and teamwork), personal interview (assessing personality, career goals, and programme fit), and a pre-interview questionnaire (PIQ). The entire process takes approximately 3 hours. Candidates are informed within 30 days whether they've been selected or placed on the waitlist. 

Step 6: Phase 2 shortlisting (score-based calls): Phase 2 is primarily based on entrance exam scores. Candidates who applied in Phase 1 can update CMAT/ATMA scores if declared after Phase 1. Minimum cutoffs for Phase 2 shortlisting: CAT/XAT — 70-80 percentile; CMAT — 70-85 percentile; ATMA — 70-80 percentile. 

Step 7: Offer letter and admission confirmation: Selected candidates receive an offer letter by email. Confirm your seat by paying the first instalment of Welingkar Mumbai tuition fees within the deadline in the letter. Failure to pay within the deadline results in the seat going to the waitlist. 

Step 8: Document verification and joining: Report to Welingkar Mumbai for physical document verification before the academic year begins in August 2026. 

Welingkar (WeSchool) also offers a 2-year Hybrid PGDM program that functions as an online/distance MBA. The standout feature of this program is its highly streamlined admission process: there are no entrance exams (CAT, CMAT, XAT, etc.) and no Group Discussions or Personal Interviews (GD/PI). Admission is granted directly based on your graduation eligibility. Admissions typically open for two primary batches each year: the January Session and the July Session.

Welingkar Mumbai MMS Admission Process 2026 (DTE Maharashtra CAP)

Welingkar Mumbai MMS admission is fully managed by the Directorate of Technical Education (DTE), Maharashtra, through the Centralised Admission Process (CAP). 

Step 1: Appear for MAH MBA/MMS CET 2026: MAH - CET 2026 is conducted in 2 Sessions: April & May sessions. Registration for MAH CET 2026 was open until February/March 2026 via the official DTE portal (fe2026.mahacet.org). The best score across sessions is considered. 

Step 2: Register for CAP on DTE portal: After CET results, register for the CAP process at mum.digitaluniversity.ac. Fill out the online application and submit verified documents. 

Step 3: Fill college preference form: Choose Welingkar Mumbai (MMS) among your college preferences in order of priority. Seat allotment is based on your CET score and preference order. 

Step 4: CAP Round 1 seat allotment: Seat allotment is published online. If allotted Welingkar Mumbai, report to the institute for document verification and confirm the seat by paying the first year's fees. 

Step 5: CAP Round 2 / Spot Round (if applicable): If seats remain after Round 1, additional CAP rounds or spot rounds are conducted. Welingkar Mumbai's MMS is highly competitive — the expected MAH CET 2026 cutoff for All India quota is 99.3–99.5 percentile, while the Maharashtra state general (GOPENS) category closed at 99.58 in 2025.

Step 6: Document verification and joining: Present original documents at the institute. Pay the remaining fees as per the DTE schedule.

Welingkar Mumbai PGP Admission Process 2026 (11-Month Programme)

Welingkar Mumbai's 11-month PGP (Entrepreneurship & FMB and Media & Entertainment) admission is based on academic profile. Apply at welingkar.org, pay the application fee, and appear for an in-depth personal interview. No specific entrance exam is required. 

Step 1: Check if you can apply (Eligibility)

• You just need a college degree (a bachelor's degree). If you are in your final year, you can still apply.
• If you are applying for the Family Business program, they prefer that you already have a family business or want to start your own.

Step 2: Fill out the form online

• Go to the Welingkar website and find the "11-Month PGP" section.
• Create an account, fill in your details, and upload your basic documents (like 10th, 12th, and college mark sheets).
• Pay the application fee online.

Step 3: The Interview (The most important part)

• If they like your application, they will call you for a Personal Interview.
• Instead of testing your math or English, they will ask about your business ideas, your family business (if you have one), or your interest in the media industry. They just want to see if you are a good fit for the course.

Step 4: Get your admission offer

• If your interview goes well, they will send you an offer letter.
• To confirm your seat, you just need to show your original documents and pay the course fees.

Timing: Applications and interviews usually happen between January and March, and the classes start around June or July.

Welingkar Mumbai PhD Admission Process 2026

For Welingkar Mumbai PhD admission 2026, eligible candidates apply online at welingkar.org, appear for the PhD Entrance Test (PET) conducted by the University of Mumbai, and then appear for a personal interview conducted by the WeSchool research centre. Final selection is based on PET score and interview performance. 

Step 1: Check your degree (Eligibility)

• You need to have a Master’s degree (like an MBA, MMS, or M.Com) with at least 55% marks.

Step 2: Take the University Exam

• You must apply for and pass the PET (PhD Entrance Test), which is conducted by the University of Mumbai.
• Bonus: If you have already cleared national exams like UGC-NET, CSIR-NET, JRF, or SET, you are generally exempted from taking the PET.

Step 3: The Interview at Welingkar

• Once you have a valid PET score (or a NET/SET exemption), you apply directly to Welingkar's research centre.
• They will call you for a Personal Interview. Here, you will present your research idea and discuss the specific topic you want to study for the next 3 to 4 years.

Step 4: Final Admission

• If the Welingkar panel approves your research proposal and interview performance, you will be offered a seat to begin your doctorate.
