Women’s College, Shillong, an Education India Trust sponsored linguistic minority institution was established in 1984. Ever since its inception, this institution, duly aided by a band of committed faculty, has been striving hard to translate its maxim "Abirabirma Edhi" into reality through spread of education amongst women. The academic performance of its students enables it to stand out as one of the premier institutions in the state of Meghalaya. Functioning from its own impressive campus at upper New Colony, Laitumkhrah, Shillong, this institution offers regular academic courses from the plus two level to Degree in Social Work and in Arts stream of studies. An aided institution of the Government of Meghalaya since 1991, this institution is affiliated to the Meghalaya Board of Secondary Education for its plus two level courses while for the Degree courses it is affiliated to the North Eastern Hill University, Shillong.
