As per AICTE's revised guidelines from 2020, MCA is a 2-year (4 semester) postgraduate programme across all colleges in Chennai. The previous 3-year structure has been phased out.
TANCET is mandatory for admission to government colleges and most private autonomous colleges (MCC, Loyola, DG Vaishnav). Private deemed universities (SRM, VIT, HITS) conduct their own entrance exams or offer merit-based admission.
