UPSEE 2021 Exam Pattern

The applicants of UPSEE 2021 must have a clear idea about the UPSEE 2021 exam pattern and syllabus. The exam pattern of UPSEE 2021 would help the applicants prepare well for the examination. Knowing the exam pattern and the syllabus would help the applicants to understand the type of questions that might be given in the examination.     Highlights of UPSEE Exam Pattern 2021

    UPSEE is organised in online and offline mode depending on the choices of papers.

    • Offline Mode: Paper 1, Paper 2, Paper 3 and Paper 4 will be organised in offline mode.

    • Online Mode: Paper 5, Paper 6, Paper 7, Paper 8, Paper 9, Paper 10 and Paper 11 will be organised in online mode.

    • The exam consists of objective type multiple-choice questions (MCQs).

    • The total duration of the exam is 180 minutes (3 hours).

    • The medium of question paper is in English as well as Hindi.

        UPSEE 2021 Marking Scheme

        • Every correct answer is awarded 4 marks.

        • More than one answer indicated against the question is considered as a wrong answer and no marks will be given to such an answer.

        • There is no negative marking in UPSEE.

        UPSEE Tie-Breaker Policy 2021

        UPSEE authorities will deploy the tie-breaking policy when two or more candidates score the same marks in the UPSEE 2021 entrance exam. The UPSEE 2021 tie-breaker policy will help the authorities decide which candidate, out of the ones stuck together with the same score, will be placed at a higher position in the merit list. The merit list for UPSEE 2021 will be available on the official website. Here is how the UPSEE tie-breaker policy works - 

        • Between two or more candidates with the same score, candidate/s with a lesser number of incorrect responses will be allocated a higher position in the merit list
        • Candidates with a lower application number will be placed higher in the merit list
        • B Des/BHMCT/BFAD/BFA/ B Voc/MBA/MBA(Integrated)/MCA/Lateral entry candidates’ tie will be resolved by age only, i.e older candidates will be placed at a higher position in the merit list
        • Tie will be resolved for B.Arch candidates on the basis of their marks secured in Paper-III (Drawing Aptitude, Mathematics and Aesthetics Sensitivity section) first and then by age
        • Tie will be resolved for MCA(Integrated)/ M Tech (Integrated) on the basis of the marks obtained by them in Paper I (Mathematics and Physics sections) first and then by age
        • B.Pharma candidates’ tie issues will be resolved on the basis of the marks obtained by them in Paper-II (Biology and Chemistry) first and then by age

        UPSEE 2021 Qualifying Marks

        The minimum marks required by the candidates appearing in UPSEE to be selected for the merit list is known as UPSEE qualifying marks. As per the orders from the Uttar Pradesh government, the UPSEE appearing candidates must at least secure 25% marks to be eligible to be considered for the UPSEE merit list. The numbers drop down to 20% for UPSEE candidates belonging to reserved categories like SC and ST.

        Dear Student,

        For the UPSEE Counselling, the seat which has a higher ranking will be allotted to you. That means if the seat allotted to you in the second round has a higher ranking than the first round, it will be allotted to you and vice versa. If you are satisfied with the allotted seat, you can pay the acceptance fee or go for the float option if you still want to participate in the third round of counseling.

        Yes, you don't need to lock your choices again if you have already done it for the first round of UPSEE Counselling. However, if you have made some changes to your choices after the first round, then you need to lock your choices again.         What is the duration of UPSEE exam?

        The total time duration for UPSEE entrance test depends on the paper to be attempted by the candidate. Paper 1, 2, and 3 will be of a total duration of 3 hours, paper 4 will be a total of 2 hours and 30 minutes duration,  paper 5, 6, 7, and 8 will be a total of 1 hour and 30 minutes duration, and paper 9, 10 and 11 will be of a total of 2 hours duration. 

         

        Do all candidates get same question paper for UPSEE exam?

        No,  the question papers and the question asked in the exam will depend on the subject choose and by the respective candidate for the test.

        Will there be negative marking in the UPSEE exam?

         No,  there will be no negative marking in UPSEE entrance test.

        What is the format of questions in UPSEE exam?

        All of the questions in the UPSEE exam will be of the objective type. The students will have to choose one correct answer among the four options given for each question.

         

        How many attempts can I give in UPSEE Exam?

        According to UPSEE-AKTU 2018, there is no limit on the number of attempts for UPSEE exam which means students can appear for as many times in the exam.

        Is there any negative marking for UPSEE Exam?

        No, there is no negative marking for UPSEE exam. However, the candidates will be given a separate record for all the incorrect answers.

        What is the total number of marks in UPSEE Exam?

        In the UPSEE exam, Paper 1,2, and 3 contains 600 marks, while paper 5 carries a weightage of 400 marks.

        There are 150 questions in UPSEE exam where the number of questions in Mathematics is 50, Physics is 50 and Chemistry is 50 or Biology is 50.
