The Madras Christian College, is also known as MCC, proffers bachelors and master courses in the field of arts, commerce, science. The MCC college was established 1837 by Rev. John Anderson. MCC has 365 acres vast, idyllic campus. In the year of 1978, this institute became self-financed college. In MCC, the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) monitors the quality parameters. In MCC, the centre for International Social Work (CISW) promotes cross cultural learning, enhancing knowledge, etc.. The mission of MCC is 'The Madras Christian College with the inspiration of the love of God, offers to people of all communities education of the whole person which is congruous with God's revelation in Christ of the true nature of humanity, and is appropriate to the needs of India and the world.' The college has been awarded A+ grade by NAAC. MCC has over 220 faculty members. Today the College has more than7000 students (both ladies and gentlemen as they are traditionally called) and over 220 faculty members serving in 33 departments of both aided and self-financed streams. It is a matter of pride that the institution is ranked among the Top Ten Liberal Arts and Science Colleges in India. The Institution received the Rating of A+ (equivalent to 90-95%) by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) in its first accreditation in 2003, and is reaccredited with the highest rating of A grade in 2013. The 365 acre salubrious, idyllic campus with its rare, diverse flora and fauna is a great joy to live in.
