Four students of the reputed Indian Institute of Foreign trade have landed placements worth Rs 1 crore-plus. In fact the institute has recorded spectacular placements with domestic package up by 21% at Rs 29 lakh per annum and most important of all there has been 100% placements with the average package at Rs 18.01 lakh this year.
The largest ever batch of 254 students of the B-school completed placements in record seven days’ time. Also in comparison to the 13 international roles being offered last year the number rose to 15 this year. The top recruiters who hired a large number of IIFT students include Cognizant Business Consulting, JP Morgan, Amazon, Vodafone, State Bank of India, Goldman Sachs, Wipro, IDFC Bank, HCL, ICICI Bank and Citibank among others. In a 36% rise vis-à-vis last year one-fourth of the batch received pre-placement offers (PPOs).
There were some new recruiters this year who visited the campus such as Nivea, Pernod Ricard, British Telecom, 3M, Synergy Consulting, Tata Sky, IDFC Bank, General Motors, TGI Group and many more. The largest recruiter hiring 25% of the batch was the Banking, Financial services and Insurance (BFSI) sector.
Sanjay Verma, the placement advisor, said,” International placements remained firm with stupendous rise in offers across locations such as Tanzania, Nigeria, Middle East, Thailand and Hong Kong. International roles were offered by Olam International, TGI Group, Bhatia Brothers, Bajaj Auto and Godrej among others. IIFT reinforced its standing as the best trade school in Asia with roles offered by reputed trade recruiters like AluZinc Asia, Louis Dreyfus and Swiss Singapore.”
Google, SAP India, HP, Hexaware, IBM and Adobe were some of the IT giants that made their presence felt. Also there was an aggressive hiring by the ecommerce sector too with larger recruiters being Flipkart, ShopClues, Amazon, CarDekho, Bluestone and Play games 24x7.
