Central University of Gujarat Admission 2024 - Dates, Form, Online Process, Fees

Central University of Gujarat admissions requires a valid CUET score. Conducted by NTA, the Common University Entrance Test is designed for admission into all UG and PG courses. Apart from CUET, candidates must have UGC-NET (including JRF)/ UGC-CSIR NET (including JRF)/ SLET/ GATE/ teacher fellowship qualification to apply for PhD programmes. 

CUG Application Process 2024

Applying for the CUET 2024 for admission into UG and PG courses at Central University of Gujarat involves the following steps:

• Visit the CUET official website cuet.samarth.ac.in.
• Click on New Registration and enter name, email address and mobile number to sign up.
• Now using the same credentials, login into your account.
• The application form will appear on the screen.
• Fill in all the details and upload photograph and signature. Students are also asked about the program applied for and choice of University (up to 3).
• Pay the CUET fees and save the confirmation form for future reference.

Students will receive a confirmation message on their registered mobile numbers too. All details relating to b registration, exam dates and result can be found on cuet.nta.nic.in, nta.ac.in. or on CUG admissions 2024 page at cug.ac.in/admission.php.

What After CUET?

After the declaration of theCUET results, CUG will notify candidates applying to various UG programmes to come for counselling. Registration for counselling is a must for CUG admission. Students are expected to opt for a particular programme either online or offline. All the information related to the counselling process is uploaded on Central University of Gujarat official website. 

The merit list of UG, PG programmes in different schools/centres is declared after the counselling process is over. The selected candidates can secure their admission to their respective programmes by proving their eligibility and paying the requisite fee online. If any candidate fails to secure admission before the due date, his/her seat is offered to the next candidate from the waiting list.

Central University of Gujarat eligibility criteria must be met by all candidates before applying for admission. Application to CUG undergraduate and postgraduate courses is based on the Common University Entrance Test or CUET. The first CUG eligibility criteria, therefore, is to qualify for CUET. But it is to be kept in mind that all courses have their specific requirements. Hence, students must check CUG eligibility criteria for their respective courses. For PhD, CUG conducts a separate entrance examination to shortlisted candidates. Post selection, candidates are called for a personal interview or viva. 

Central University of Gujarat offers three undergraduate courses namely, BA (Hons) in German Studies, BA (Hons) in Chinese, and Integrated BA-MA. To apply for CUG UG courses, candidates must fulfill the following eligibility criteria:

• Qualifying for the CUET.
• Pass 10 + 2 or equivalent with a minimum of 50% incase of general, and 45% for reserved categories. 

CUG PG admission is offered for MA, M.Sc, M.Phil and P.hD programmes. The eligibility criteria for CUG PG courses include:

• Qualifying for the CUET.
• Have a bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline with a minimum of 50% incase of general candidates. The university offers a relaxation of 5% for candidates belonging to reserved categories.

Additional requirements may be asked for some specific PG courses too. 

M.Ed at Central University of Gujarat is one of the most sought-after programs. CUG M.Ed eligibility criteria include:

• Pass the CUET.
• Score at least 50% marks in B.Ed, Integrated (BA, B.Ed), Integrated (B.Sc, B.Ed) or D. El. Ed. /D.Ed./P.T.C. Reservation for SC/ST/OBC/PWD and other applicable categories will be as per the rules of the GOI/CUG.

CUG offers PhD courses in Applied Chemistry, Chemical Sciences, Nano Sciences, English, International Politics, Economics, Political Science, etc. CUG eligibility for PhD 2024 include:

• Master’s degree with 55% marks or equivalent for general candidates. A 5% relaxation is allowed for candidates belonging to reserved category. 
• Central University of Gujarat conducts a PhD entrance test to shortlist candidates. Appearing for CUG entrance test is mandatory for all candidates. 
• Once the candidates make it to Central University of Gujarat PhD merit list, they need to appear for a personal interview/ viva voice. The interview is conducted to test the depth of knowledge and research skills of the candidates. 
• Apart from the 70% marks of the entrance test and 30% of the candidates’ performance in the interview, an additional qualification of UGC-NET (including JRF), UGC-CSIR NET (including JRF), GATE, SLET or related is required. The NET/SLET/GATE requirement varies across CUG courses and disciplines. 

CUG UG admission is offered for BA courses only. No B.Sc courses are available for the time being. The BA courses of CUG include BA (Hons) Chinese, BA (Hons) German, integrated/dual degree (B.A (Hon) Social Management) – (M.A Social Management), etc. While the traditional BA courses are of three years, CUG integrated courses take five years to be completed. The admission process for CUG admission to UG courses is mentioned below:

• Register for the CUET and appear for the test. 
• Once the student qualifies for CUET, he/she is called for counseling at CUG. there may be more than one counseling session for different courses. The students are notified based on their position on the merit list. 
• Apart from the CUET score, students must also fulfill course-wise eligibility criteria. To prove the same, they must carry original documents and certificates for verification. 
• After all the counseling sessions are over, CUG will release the merit lists on its official website. 
• Selected students must check the university notification and go all prepared for CUG admission. 
• After the final document verification, CUG admission fees must be paid. The receipt must be kept as a proof of admission for future reference.

CUG PG admission process is similar to the UG courses. A brief step-by-step guide to applying for CUG PG courses is given below:

• Register for CUET and appear for the test.
• Once the students make it to the merit list, they will be notified by the university for counseling sessions. 
• Students must prove their eligibility for the respective courses that they have applied for. 
• After the university completes all the counseling sessions, merit lists are uploaded on the official website. 
• Selected students must carefully read CUG admission notification and get set for admission on the allotted date. 
• After all relevant documents are verified and all procedures are done, the last step is to pay CUG PG admission fee. 
• Pay the fee and keep the receipt for further reference. 

CUG M.Ed admission is offered under the Centre for Studies & Research of the School of Education (SE). The course includes theory courses, concurrent field work, internship, research project etc. Central University of Gujarat M.Ed admission involves the following steps:

• Just like UG and other PG admission, students applying for M.Ed at CUG must also take the CUET. 
• After the declaration of CUET results, students will be notified for CUG counseling. 
• From original marksheets to all other documents to prove eligibility, the students must carry everything with them.
• After multiple rounds of counseling, the first merit list of CUG will be uploaded on the official website. 
• Every merit list will notify a date of admission for the respective students. The students must be present on the date of admission without fail. 
• After the final document verification and completion of all admission procedures, the fees have to be paid.  
• Students must retain the fee receipt as a proof of admission for further reference. 

CUG PhD admission is not based on CUET. In fact, Central University of Gujarat conducts a different entrance examination exclusively for PhD admission. Following are steps involved in the process:

• Visit the official website of Central University of Gujarat and register for CUG entrance test.
• The candidates must fill all the mandatory fields. 
• Upload the supporting documents, photograph and signature by following the given instruction.
• Pay the registration fee, which is Rs 1,000 for general candidates and Rs 500 for reserved category. There is no CUG registration fee for PWD candidates.
• Click on the submit button, and you are done with CUG entrance test registration.
• Check CUG official website to know about the date of examination and download admit cards. 
• Appear for the test on the set date and time. 
• Once the students make it to the merit list (available on CUG official website), they will be called for an interview/ viva. 
• The final merit list will be after all the interview sessions are over. Qualified candidates must produce proof of eligibility and claim their admission to CUG PhD courses after paying the fee.
