Cambrian College, established in 1967, has been the leading post-secondary institution in the Northern Ontario region. Cambrian College was founded as a trade school. It was established with university campuses in Sault Ste. Marie, North Bay, and Sudbury. 
The College is ranked 121 by the webometrics. The college is accredited and is a publicly-funded community college operating under the directions of the provincial Ministry of Training, Colleges, and Universities.

Infrastructure, Campus & Courses

Cambrian College, an applied arts and technology institution, is located in Greater Sudbury,  Ontario.  Till 1995, Cambrian had been a bilingual institute, providing courses in French and English. The college has three campuses, the main campus Barrydowne Campus, Manitoulin Campus, and Espanola Campus.

It offers 80 regular programs that suit the employment and academic aspirations of people. Cambrian College offers programs in Business and Information Technology, Community Services, Environmental Studies, General Studies, Law and Justice, Health Science and Emergency Services, Creative Arts and Design, Engineering Technology, skills and Trades Training, and Graduate Certificate Programs.

Accomplishments & Alumni

Cambrian R&D, the applied research department of Cambrian College, is involved in research and development projects with industry. Cambrian secured $3.2 million in the research income of the 2018 fiscal year. This shows a 73% up in comparison to the research income reported over the fiscal year of 2017.

Notable alumni include François Chartrand, Brian Bigger, Brian Hayes, Abbas Homayed, Glenn Thibeault, Will Morin, and many more.

Cambrian College has a lively community of over 11,000 students, with over 4100 students in 80 full-time programs, and more than 7000 students in nearly 900 part-time programs throughout the three campus sites in Northern Ontario. The college is home to approximately 573 students from 39 countries as well.
