Boston University (BU) is a research university situated in Boston, Massachusetts and founded in 1839. It was earlier known as the Newbury Biblical Institute. The national ranking of the university is 40 among the other universities. Boston University is nonsectarian but the United Methodist Church has affiliated it historically. Talking about its ranking, Boston University is ranked #40 in National Universities by the US News & World Report 2020. 

Infrastructure, Campus & Courses

Boston University is spread across 135 acres. The university has more than 35,000 students from different countries around the globe with 300 programs. BU has 18 schools and colleges on two urban campuses. The main campus is situated along the Charles River in Boston's Fenway-Kenmore and Allston neighbourhoods, while the Boston University Medical Campus is located in Boston's South End neighbourhood. The university has clubs, Archaeology society, film society, international society, Deaf studies club, Marine science association, and so on. The university offers degrees of bachelor's, masters, doctorates, medical, dental business, and law. The most sought after courses at BU are Business, Computer Science, Engineering, Law and so on.

BU is categorized as an R1: Doctoral University (very high research activity) in the Carnegie Classification of Institutions of Higher Education. BU is also a member of the Boston Consortium for Higher Education and the Association of American Universities. The university is known for its academic excellence and hockey team. It was the only university to give access to all the programs to females. There are few sample names of the remarkable alumni like Uzo Aduba 2005 graduate is a famous actress, Jason Alexander is a classical actor, Fred Allen is a comedian, Howard Ashman, the lyricist, Andy Cohen is a Bravo executive and hosted “Watch What Happens Live”, Nina Garcia is a fashion editor who studied Liberal arts in BU, Aesop Rock is the hip-hop artist.
