The oldest institute for higher education in the United States, Harvard University came into existence in the year 1636 as a result of voting by the Great and General Court of Massachusetts Bay Colony. In the year 1638, the institute was renamed after the first benefactor of the college, John Harvard of Charlestown who left his half estate and a library for the Institution. Today, Harvard University is globally reputed due to its academic programmes, which are of the highest pedigree. Founded as a clergy training school, the Institute revamped its admission policy during the 20th century, which opened a gateway for a diverse pool of applicants. COVID-19 Response

Understanding the need to keep students, staff and faculty safe during such unprecedented times, Harvard University will undertake a phased approach to resuming in-person activities on campus. Here is the COVID-19 Response of Harvard University.

  • As the government starts to slowly relax the restrictions and the scenario enhances with time, the University will eventually return to in-person classes. As of current updates, the University is preparing to commence its phased processes of recommencing in-person classes from August this year.

  • Each School at Harvard will be designing their own protocols to phase in the in-person activities for the Fall 2021 session.

  • On-campus dorms and accommodations will be available for the latest term.

  • Harvard will be offering vaccine appointments to students, however, the students will be required to update and inform the university of the same. Students, staff and faculty members are encouraged to receive their vaccines as soon as possible so as to facilitate a quicker transition to in-person activities and classes.

  • Students, staff and faculty members are expected to follow the medical guidelines as outlined by the CDC to help reduce the spread of the virus.
