What's New in Ashoka University?
A multifunctional institution with UGC recognition, Ashoka University is located in Sonepat, Haryana. The "Experiential Learning Method," used by Ashoka University, is a novel approach to teaching that divides disciplines into modules.
The institution provides a BA/B.Sc (Hons) degree at the undergraduate level where students can select their major from a list of nine pure or eight multidisciplinary disciplines. Ashoka University also provides a minor degree programme in addition to undergraduate majors. All of the major disciplines are also available as minors through the institution.
The institution provides YIF (Young India Fellowship), M.A. in Economics, as well as M.A. in Liberal Arts courses at the graduate level. In order to foster an interdisciplinary atmosphere on campus, Ashoka University now offers 7 Academic Centres that enable research-oriented cooperation.

To get admissions in BA/B.Sc at Ashoka University, candidates should have passed class 12th or equivalent examination (from any recognised board) in 2017/ 2018/ 2019.
Once an application form has been submitted, then the Admissions Committee will review it and will shortlist applicants for the personal interview round. The interview will be conducted in different cities such as Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad, Kolkata, etc. A provision will be made for the candidates who are unable to travel to any cities through Skype interview or in-person interview at the Ashoka University.
Components of the Interview Round
1. On-the-spot essay- 30 minutes (Mandatory)
On-the-spot essay assesses the following parameters: prompt communication, critical thinking, clear thinking, and creativity. At the time of writing the essay, the applicant will be given two subjects to choose from. No external resources can be used by the candidate to help them write the essay. The essay has no word limit and can be tried with minimal preparation.
2. Ashoka Aptitude Test- 90 minutes (Highly Recommended)
The candidate's reasoning skills were measured by the Ashoka Aptitude Test (AAT). The AAT consists of questions about problem-solving skills (including quantitative and spatial reasoning) and critical thinking skills (including arguments and reasoning used in everyday life). The AAT has 40 multiple choice questions (20 questions for problem-solving and 20 questions for critical thinking) and is structured with limited planning.
3. Interview with a Panel (Mandatory)
Ashoka Interview is aimed at understanding the candidate, his thought process and his background. It also evaluates the candidate's application form to determine the suitability of the candidate for the educational and residential life system of Ashoka University. A jury will be interviewing the nominee. The interview time can vary depending on the interaction.

Given below is the eligibility criteria for MA at Ashoka University:
Students with a recognised undergraduate degree are eligible to apply for a two-year MA in Economics and the final selection is based on the merit of the entrance test.
Students who have graduated with a degree in Liberal Studies under YIF are eligible to apply for an MA in Liberal Studies
In the personal interview, students are evaluated on the basis of their academic performance, participation in extracurricular activities and personal interview performance
Selection of candidates to the programme is done on the basis of their performance in the entrance examination, conducted by the university. Candidates can register and fill the applications online from November 2019 onwards. Once the application has been submitted, candidates need to appear for an entrance examination. The entrance exam will comprise 50 multiple-choice questions. The exam will test the basic statistics, mathematics and analytical reasoning of the students. Based on the exam result, the applicant will be shortlisted for the MA programme at Ashoka University.
To take admission in Ashoka University candidates must have a postgraduate degree in a relevant field.
A one-year interdisciplinary postgraduate diploma programme in Liberal Studies is offered by the Young India Fellowship (YIF).
