Ashoka University is a private university established in the year 2014. The university is recognised by the University Grants Commission (UGC). Ashoka University Sonepat secured  64th position under the 'Asian University' category of the QS World University Ranking 2024. Ashoka University, Panipat secured a place in the 101- 105 rank band as per the NIRF 2024 ranking. To support students, it offers need-based and merit-based scholarships. Ashoka University offers 7 courses in arts, management and science streams. The campus of the university is spread over an area of 25 acres. Ashoka University has more than 200+ faculty members and 2600+ students. The university is equipped with facilities including fully air-conditioned classrooms, a library, laboratories, auditoriums, etc. 

The courses are offered at certificate, undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral levels. BA, BSc, MA, MSc, and PhD to name a few are some of the popular courses offered by Ashoka University. The university conducts the Ashoka Aptitude Test (AAT) for admission. Further, it also accepts CUET/ SAT/ACT scores for admission. Ashoka University provides scholarships through the Young India Fellowship program that waives the entire fee in the course curriculum and gives a one-year Post-Graduate Diploma in Research and related fields. The scholarship can be availed by taking an independent test for this course, and more than 100 students study at the university with a complete fee waiver. Eligibility criteria for Ashoka University - Young India Fellowship

The YIF program brings handpicked and carefully chosen individuals to be groomed over a period of one year at the university to lead the society and communities of the new age. Millennials and forward-looking individuals are selected after rigorous rounds of selection.

Ashoka University's Young India Fellowship requires certain eligibility that must be fulfilled. At the time of application, the candidate cannot be more than 28 years. When applying, an undergraduate degree is a must where the applicant may be waiting for final year results. The three key qualities basis which individuals are evaluated are - Intellectual curiosity, passion and self-awareness, and potential to lead.

There are two rounds of a rigorous process, where the final round of the two decides who, from varying degrees of capability, can join the course. If the applicant misses the first round, they can join in the final round for assessment.

Eligibility criteria for selection

Of the two rounds, the applicants are required to clear both and prove their capability to lead the way. A 50 percent fee waiver is possible for a large range, and it is also a need-based relaxation for financial requirements.

How to apply for Young India Fellowship at Ashoka University

The students have to follow these steps -

• Visit the Ashoka University official  website 
• Click Apply button on the top
• Click Register and agree to the terms and conditions of the university after carefully reading it
• Fill in the details and create a user name and password
• After receiving the details in an email, go back to the homepage
• Click Apply and click Sign in
• Apply for the Youth India Fellowship program
• Sit for the Exam
• Sit for the interview
• If it is cleared, check the amount of scholarship offered
• If agreeable, then pay the remaining fee if applicable and take admission

Depending on their need and capacity to pay, the students are given financial aid. Merit-based scholarships are not permitted. The following documents are necessary to apply for the Ashoka University scholarship :

• Details of the financial assets
• Business Income Tax Return, Business Bank Statement.
