Shri O.H.Nazar Ayurved College, Surat and attached Shri Swami Atmanand Saraswati Ayurvedic Hospital (Grant-in-aid), Gujarat run by the institute named by Shri Tapi Brahmacharyashram Sabha, Surat was established by late Saint Shri Swami Atmanand Saraswati in 1946 which is the only teaching institute imparting Ayurvedic Education & providing Ayurved Medical treatment to the needy people in the South Gujarat region since 1946. The South Gujarat area is considered as tribal area and is socio-economically back-ward class region. The purpose to establish the college with attached hospital was to provide affordable and effective ayurvedic treatment in this ill developed area. The attached hospital was established in 1948 with the aim to provide cheap and effective treatment to the socio-economically backward people in the ill-developed area. Since then the institute is continuously engaged in the service of the people of the region. The students from all over Gujarat are getting admission in Surat ayurvedic college. we are having 50 students admission capacity in the first year course of BAMS every year. The students are provided good food, residential accommodation & inspiratory atmosphere. The students are also getting clinical knowledge at the O.P.D. level as well as I.P.D. level too in very spacious, well equipped, highly air ventilated with neat & clear atmosphere. The duration of BAMS course of 5.5 years including 01 year compulsory internship.
