The college is situated on a vast 96-acre land.
There are two main blocks, namely, North Block and South Block, each with 60,000 sq. ft. of floor space.
The undergraduate classrooms and all the science laboratories are located in these blocks.
There is a separate Intermediate Block and separate Postgraduate Block with a floor space of 10,000 sq. ft.
A separate building for the Computer Centre with a floor space of 5,000 sq. ft. is provided.
A New Building has been added to the existing premises.

The college has four hostels in which about fifty percent of its students stay: Gogineni Hostel, Raghavendra Rao Hostel (more familiarly known as ‘New Hostel'), Xavier Hostel, and Sanjeevan Niwas.
Xavier Hostel is meant exclusively for the girl students of ALC, and Sanjeevan Niwas is the home of Jesuit scholastics from different parts of the country who are pursuing their secular education as students of BA, BSc or BCom at ALC.
The College has three functional units led by Program Officers Ms.N.Nirmala Mary, Lecturer in English, for Unit-3, which is a girls’ unit and Dr.D.Krupa Rao, Lecturer in Telugu and Mr.B.John, Lecturer in Zoology, for units 1 and 2 respectively. Ours is one of the few Colleges with all the four wings of National Cadet Corps – Army, Navy, Air and R & V Wings - with the cadets holding fast to their motto of unity and discipline.
The Department of Botany is one of the unique Departments since the inception of the College with its well established Labs, Inter-disciplinary Research Lab, Botanical Garden,Herbal Garden, well organized Herbarium and recently added Green House. The Department is well organized with an aim to provide a green lungs for the inhabitants of Vijayawada – the commercial city of Andhra Pradesh. Gradually, it became a dynamic and vibrant Department, focusing on conservation of plant biodiversity. Over the years, it has made significant contributions in the field of ex situ and in situ conservation and assessment of genetic diversity of various groups of plants and its related aspects.
