Carmel College for Women - CCW

Carmel College for Women, a Christian college, was established in 1964 to fulfil the long felt need for an institute for higher learning for women in Goa. The site for the college was generously donated by Mrs. Thelma Da Costa Lourenco of Margao, whose dream of a women’s college has become a reality.The college is permanently affiliated to Goa University in the faculties of Arts, Science, and Commerce. It is managed by the Sisters of the Congregation of the Apostolic Carmel, a Roman Catholic Congregation. The college is a NAAC (National Assessment and Accreditation Council ) Accreditated institution. It has been awarded B + + Grade (80-85%) by the NAAC, which is an autonomous body appointed by the University Grants Commission. The diligent faculty team of the college possesses hands-on experience and up to date knowledge of their subject and area of expertise. The infrastructure and facilities of CCW consists of spread-out campus alongside various amenities in the form of library, computer center, classrooms with proper teaching and learning aids, medical facilities etc. The institute seeks to place each of its students in an organization/company of great repute. The Carmel College for Women provides a library which is spread over an area of 3718.22sq.metres. There are two basket ball grounds, one tennis court, spacious and well equipped auditorium, canteen, central room or hall, overhead projector, LCD, computer labs, multi media systems, internet facility and network labs. The hostel has 40 rooms which can accommodate more than 1000 students. The classrooms of the college are well furnished.
