Central University of Punjab (CUP) Bathinda Overview

Central University of Punjab Admission: NTA has announced the CUET UG and PG exam dates for the academic session 2024. As per the schedule, the CUET UG exam will be held from May 15 to May 31. Moreover, the NTA CUET PG exam will be held from March 11 to March 28, 2024. Students seeking admission to CUP Bathinda shall qualify the exam and score over and above the admission cut off to get a seat in their desired course.

The Central University of Punjab application process began in March when they released the details for their PhD program, and the last date for applications is May 6, 2023, for their master's course.   • Read out the eligibility norms and other important instructions that the student must keep in mind.
  • Fill out the necessary details, including personal data and academic information and keep all the documents handy for submission later.

Once the results are declared, the eligible candidates must fill out a separate form online for counselling. Those who have achieved good grades in the exam and are eligible for admission but have not filled the counselling form would not be considered for admission to the Central University of Punjab. Central University of Punjab (CUP) Bathinda Ranking 2023

The CUP Bathinda NIRF ranking 2023 is 100 in the University category with a score of 42.93. Previously it had a rank of 81 with a score of 42.64. The NIRF ranking 2023 university for Pharmacy is 19 in the Pharmacy category with a score of 59.09. Previously it had a rank of 26 with a score of 54.53. The NIRF 2023 applications were received 8,686 times this year as opposed to 7,254 applications received the previous year.

CUP Bathinda has been ranked as the number one newly established University in India since 2012 as per the rankings issued by Research gate. Central University Punjab has been accredited as A Grade University since 2016 by NAAC. CUP is considered one of the best universities for per capita research funding, with its figures being far above the average and among the top few in the country. Central University of Punjab (CUP) Bathinda Cutoff 2023

The CUP Bathinda cutoff will determine the candidates' eligibility for admission. The CUP Bathinda cut-off data for each subject is provided below in tabular format for students to assess where they stand in relation to the admission requirements. The two separate cutoffs for the test are the GATE 2023 admission cutoff and the GATE 2023 qualifying cutoff. Aspirants have explained the differences between the GATE qualifying and admission cutoff marks for 2023 in this section.

The qualifying cutoff for GATE 2023 is the score that candidates must achieve in order to be accepted for the exam. CUP Bathinda Cutoff 2023 for GATE is different for each of the 29 subjects for which the test was given. The conducting institute announces the GATE qualifying cutoff as the GATE 2023 results are released. The GATE cutoff 2023 is the minimum score required for admission to participating universities. The institute announces the GATE 2023 entrance cutoff when the desired admission is available. Central University of Punjab (CUP) Bathinda Placement 2023

Like any other university, CUP Bhatinda has a special placement cell that trains students and makes them ready for placement. The Central University of Punjab placement cell was established in 2018 and has been growing ever since. The cell is currently headed by – Dr Vinod Kumar – Associate Professor and Head Department of Chemistry. In CUP Bathinda recruitment 2022, the cell helps the students choose the right career opportunity. The students are usually nervous when they hear about the interview, and they have no idea what is expected of them. The CUP Bathinda placement team guides them and trains them on how to present themselves in the interview. 

In the CUP Bathinda recruitment 2021 programme, the cell also coordinated with various companies and invite them to the campus to recruit their fresh talent. The Central University of Punjab placement cell also helps students who are not in their final year secure internship opportunities. As per the data released by CUP Bathinda, out of a pool of 577 postgraduate students, 535 were eligible for placements. Out of the eligible students, 112 students were placed, and 120 opted for higher studies at CUP Bathinda.

Central University of Punjab (CUP) Bathinda Scholarship 2023

The Central University Bathinda has various financial schemes available for the students to make sure that no student is left behind due to their finances. The pilot project is the "Earn While You Learn" scheme going on at the Central University of Punjab campus since 2015. The plan is to make students self-reliant while studying at the university. The intention is to develop their creativity and skills while being a student, which would help them when they enter the workforce market. 

The objectives of the Central University of Punjab scholarship scheme are to:

  • Explore the immense potential and talent of students as a valuable human resource.
  • Involve the students in management and development of managerial skills.
  • Give students hands-on experience and prepare them for jobs in future.
  • Encourage young students to learn about the dignity of labour.
  • Prevent students from avoidable distractions and route their minds in meaningful, positive activities.
  • Enable commendable and financial students to earn a reasonable amount every month to meet their expenses.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for the Earn as you learn to program, the following criteria must be met: 

  • CUP Bathinda students registered in this program must have at least 75% attendance. 
  • The students must not be receiving any financial assistance from any other agency, either private or public.
  • Students studying at the Central University of Punjab PG courses can apply for assistants in the library, computer centre and store. 
  • One of the applicants may be nominated as a supervisor and can monitor the progress of work and maintain the records for payments.

Central University of Punjab (CUP) Bathinda Infrastructure

The campus of the institute is huge with 37 acres of the campus area and has a solid and well-maintained infrastructure. It offers all the necessary facilities required by the students to enjoy a proper academic life. These include air-conditioned classrooms, auditoriums, sports fields, designated laboratories for each department, media rooms for journalism students and computer centres. The campus has internet accessibility. Audio-visual training is provided for better understanding. The Central University of Punjab campus also provides hostel facilities for both male and female students. The Central University of Punjab hostel fees are nominal and appropriate as they offer basic amenities like a chair, study table, bed, geyser during winters, regularly cleaned washrooms, common rooms, dining hall, etc. Overall the CUP Bathinda campus will give a wholesome experience.

Since the inception of the Central University of Punjab, Bathinda, the library has been consistently improving and expanding. The library has been a knowledge hub for the students and is currently a house to over 48,000 titles. The library subscribes to many electronic Journals through the e-ShodhSindhu Consortium and independently, with access to American Chemical Society, American Physical Society, Annual Reviews, JSTOR, Oxford University Press, Project Muse, Sage, Springer Link, Taylor & Francis, Wiley-Blackwell etc. The Central University of Punjab Library has access to the latest and up-to-date database, including Indiastat.com, DELNET Online, ISID (The Institute for Studies in Industrial Development), JCCC (J-Gate Custom Content for Consortium), Manuparta, Web of Science etc. This CUP Bathinda Library is equipped with Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) and Electromagnetic Security System (EMSS), providing an automated self-service facility for the users and high-end security.

In addition, the library at Central University Bathinda also has a Braille section for visually impaired users. There are various books like history, literature, religion etc available in Braille script. Kibo XS is a multi-lingual scanning and reading device which can connect with any computer device and read any printed or handwritten document in 11 Indian - English, Hindi, Marathi, Gujarati, Bengali, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, Sanskrit and multiple overseas languages. NVDA Screen reader allows blind and vision-impaired people to interact with the windows operating system. There is wheelchair access available to specially-abled users. 

Computer Centre

The computer centre at the Central University of Punjab, Bathinda, is a central place for campus-wide networking and wireless internet connection across the campus. The centre manages more than 1000 physical and wireless nodes across the CUP Bathinda campus. The centre has two leased lines 1Gbps NKN (National Knowledge Network) bandwidth which distributes the services to all admin and academic blocks and hostels. The centre provides computer services and has access to special software like MATLAB, CAMBIO and ORIGIN. 

  • Provide, update, manage and make sure the smooth operation of computational facilities for the scholars, staff, and school
  • Provide technical assistance across the CUP Bathinda campus.
  • Monitoring the pc network and, therefore, the management of overall computer facilities for the entire University.

Media Labs

The Department of Mass Communication and Media Studies has a special media lab for students of Television Production, Filmmaking, Photography and Designing. Students are allowed to use the services and expand their creativity. The following facilities are available in the lab: 

  • Video Production- 5 Video cameras with HD 4K recording, 2 Full Frame HD SLRs with 4K recording, Heavy-Duty Tripods, Reflectors, 5 iMacs Editing workstations with non-linear editing software

Language Labs

The language labs of CUP Bathindacater to the Department of English, Hindi, and Punjabi students. The lab has been established to improve the students' ICT and language communications skills. With over 20+ computers available, the interested students of the Central University of Punjab can feel free to use the lab. It also provides support for Punjabi/Hindi typing. 

Hostels and Dining Halls

The Central University of Punjab campus has four hostels – 2 for boys and 2 for girls. The total capacity of the hostels is over 1800 students at any given time. There is a dining hall adjacent to the hostels that can accommodate 650 students simultaneously. All the hostels are within walking distance of the CUP Bathinda campus. The hostels have access to extracurricular activities like – common rooms, reading rooms, three badminton, one volleyball and one basketball each in the boys and girls hostel. In addition, there are indoor games facilities like table tennis, chess and carrom. The students have access to a large cafeteria for refreshments.  24x7 monitors the CUP Bathinda campus, including the hostels, by CCTV Cameras, Security Guards and especially manned gates to ensure the complete safety of students. The Central University of Punjab hostel fees is also nominal.

Medical Health Centre

CUP Bathinda understands the value of its students and staff's health and wants to make sure they have health services available in their time of need. The Central University of Punjab, Bhatinda campus has a health centre which can facilitate treatment of general ailments, first aid and referral services to people on the campus. The medical officer has been appointed at the centre, and the OPD timings are from 8.00 A.M. to 1.00 P.M. and 4.00 P.M. to 6.00 P.M. except for Sunday & Gazetted Holidays. The students have access to low-cost medicines and emergency kits for first aid.

Overall: It's a very well funded University located at a remote location far from bhatinda city , Infrastructure is very good and the faculty are also very good except the sports department.

Placement: Even one faculty member in our department was an ex alumni b of the university University also provides for placements in good think tanks but won't depend on it

Infrastructure: It's a new campus located at new place so everything is newly built so it's vibrant and innovative designs of classes makes it more fun, with heater and AC present in the library 23 /7

Faculty: Faculty member are helpful and well trained with experience for the department of IR , Except the one professor which classes nobody understands but overall is

Hostel: Hostel is newly built every room is very spacious the bathroom is common and the water cooler is available at each floor but only one for each floor ,

University grants fellowships to all the students studying in the PhD department. All the research scholars of M.Phil.- Ph.D. are given fellowships as follows:

Are International Students charged the same fees as Domestic Students at the Central University of Punjab?

No, the fee for international students is different to national students. The fee is as follows: 

- Master Program (Humanities) – US$1,000

- Master Program (Science) – US$1,200

- PhD – US$1,400

The above fees do not include the hostel and other miscellaneous expenses. 

Students from the SAARC Countries are charges the same fees as Indian Students. 


 

What are the eligibility criteria for international students joining the Central University of Punjab?

The academic eligibility criteria are the same for domestic and international students. However, the international students have to meet some additional requirements: 

- The courses are delivered in English. Foreign applicants have to obtain a valid score in IELTS or TOEFL. Students who struggle with the English language would have to study a language course. 

- A valid GRE/GMAT score is preferred for candidates applying for Food Business Management and Entrepreneurship Development department

- Applicants have to submit a small writeup of 300 words stating the reason(s) they want to seek admission to CUP

- All international students will require a student visa except OCI or PIO cardholders. 

- The students must satisfy all requirements set by the Ministry of External Affairs.
