CUET 2022 Eligibility Criteria

Candidates fulfilling the minimum eligibility criteria may fill out the CUET 2022 Application Form. Candidates must have completed Class 12 with a minimum of 50% for general candidates and 45% for ST/SC candidates.

Steps to CUET 2022 Application Form

The mode of application for the CUET 2022 Application Form is online. Candidates must fill out the CUET 2022 Application Form online only. Here are the steps to follow:

• Visit the official website of CUET 2022.
• Click on the Apply Now tab on the screen. 
• Register as a new user by providing the necessary details. Create the login credentials.
• Using the login credentials, login to fill out the CUET 2022 Application Form.
• Upload the scanned signature and passport size photo of the candidate.
• Pay the requisite CUET 2022 Application Fee (General/OBC Candidates- INR 800; ST/SC Candidates- INR 350). 
• Submit the CUET 2022 Application form. Take a printout of it for reference.

CUET 2022 Exam Pattern

Here are some of the essential points to remember about the exam pattern for CUET 2022 before filling the CUET 2022 Application Form:

• The CUET 2022 Exam will be conducted through Computer Based Test.
• All questions will be objective type, i.e. Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs).
• A total of 175 questions will be given, candidates must attempt 140 questions only.

UGC has introduced the CUET exam for postgraduate courses as well. Through a Twitter post, it has been confirmed that candidates willing to pursue a Master's degree from a central university can apply for CUET PG exam. The exam will be conducted in the third week of July and the application process will begin today i.e., from 19th May onwards. A new website is expected to be launched for the application process of CUET PG exam.

In an exclusive interview with ThePrint on Thursday, University Grants Commission (UGC) chairman M Jagadesh Kumar said the Common University Entrance Test (CUET) will soon be conducted for admission to postgraduate courses. In the interview, he said, "We are working on extending CUET to postgraduate programmes as well. We will soon be announcing this". 

As a result of the "overwhelming response" from educational institutions, Kumar said that UGC is looking into extending the CUET to Master's programmes offered by central universities.

For postgraduate admissions, different universities follow their own criteria. There are some that accept graduation marks as an admissions criterion, even though most require an entrance exam. Bringing in CUET will ensure consistency throughout the application process, allowing students to apply to multiple universities using a single portal.

TS CPGET 2022 notification is expected to be released by the end of this month i.e., 31st May 2022. The notification will be released by the Osmania University, Hyderabad in online mode. Every year, the exam is conducted to offer admission into various Master's, PG diplomas, and integrated programmes offered by the University. Candidates interested in appearing for TS CPGET 2022 are recommended to keep an eye on the official website for any latest updates. 

Prof Limbadri said, "TS CPGET 2022 notification will be issued by the end of this month. Like last year, Osmania University will be conducting the entrance tests for all PG courses offered by conventional universities".

Major changes have been made to the CPGET 2022. Students with a BTech, MBBS, BDS, or B.Pharmacy, degree or any other undergraduate degree can now apply for six postgraduate courses in six conventional universities, namely Public Administration, History, Political Science, English, Telugu, and Economics.

Once the application form for the exam is released, candidates must fill out it before the deadline. Applicants should carefully complete the application form since the authorities might not provide any correction facility for the application. Fees must be paid online for an application to be considered. Payments can be made using credit cards, debit cards, and net banking gateways by candidates. The application fee for the general category is Rs. 800 and for SC/ ST candidates is Rs. 600. 

The examination paper will consist of 100 MCQs and the total time to solve these questions are 90 minutes. The exam will be conducted in online mode and the medium of the exam will be English.

TS CPGET 2022: In the latest revision made to the Telangana Common Post Graduate Entrance Test (TS CPGET) 2022, the exam has seen some significant changes. As per these modifications, beginning from AY 2022-23, students with a BTech, MBBS, BDS, B.Pharm, or any other undergraduate degrees are eligible to apply for admission to six conventional universities for postgraduate programmes in History, Political Science, Economics, Public Administration, English, and Telugu.

Previously, there were rigid eligibility criteria for admission which only allowed candidates to postgraduate courses who studied one subject in their UG degree and received a minimum of 40% marks.

This decision to make the admission criteria more flexible was made at a meeting on Monday chaired by the Telangana State Council of Higher Education (TSCHE) Chairman with the vice-chancellors from these six conventional universities, including Osmania University, Mahatma Gandhi University, Kakatiya University, Telangana University, Satavahana University, and Palamuru University.

"The notice for CPGET 2022 will be released before the end of this month, May 2022," Professor Limbadri said.  "Osmania University, as last year, will conduct CPGET Entrance Exam 2022 for all PG programmes provided by the conventional universities."

Aside from that, the national integration quota in PG programmes has been increased from 5% to 20% beginning with the following academic year, 2022-23. These additional seats are referred to as the 'Supernumerary Seats' which will be created for the candidates admitted under the national integration quota. This decision would make it easier for aspirants from all around the nation to pursue postgraduate studies in the state of Telangana. It will apply to all campuses, constituent and other affiliated institutions. The respective universities would decide the fee structure for the courses covered under this quota.

Along with the rest, it has also been agreed to establish an academic bank of credits at higher educational institutions. Osmania and Kakatiya Universities have been tasked with developing an action plan for the implementation of this scheme in institutions having an 'A' rating from the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC).

Moreover, a total of thirty colleges designated by the Central government would be trained for NAAC rating in the three districts (viz., Kumaran Bheem Asifabad, Bhadradri Kothagudem, and Bhupalpally). As a result, a meeting with the college administration has been planned for May 20 with the NAAC director and the TSCHE officials in attendance.
