Don Bosco Arts  & Science College , Angadikadavu, started in 2003 by the Salesians of Don Bosco of the Sacred Heart Province of Bangalore, under self financing scheme.  The College  is  affiliated to Kannur University and approved by the Government of Kerala. The college had its humble beginning in 2003 by offering two regular postgraduate degree programs, M.C.J.( Master of Communication and Journalism) and M.S.W.(Master of Social Work). In 2005, two more undergraduate programs, B.A. ( English literature with Journalism and Broadcasting ) and B.Com( Commerce with computer Application) were added and the following year B.Sc. (Mathematics with Computer Science) was introduced.  Within a span of 10 years, the College was able to offer additional two more postgraduate programs, M.A.(English Literature) and M.Com (Finance) and three more undergraduate programs, B.Com(Co-operation), B.C.A(Bachelor of Computer Application) and B.B.A.(Bachelor of Business Administration. Thus presently, the college offers 4 postgraduate degree programs and 6 undergraduate  programs.The College is located in Angadikadavu in Kannur district of Kerala State. The nearest town to Angadikadavu is Iritty. On reaching Iritty, travel a distance of  about 12 Kilometers  along the Thalessery –Bangalore State Highway to reach a place called Vallithode and from there take a diversion to Angadikadavu and travel again a distance of 4 Kilometers to get to the College. The campus is in a beautiful and natural setting at a verdant spot, free from all hassles of city life. The greenery, the dazzling stream and the freshness and simplicity around will make the campus life fascinating and exciting. Don Bosco College Of Arts And Science Placements

The placement Cell for the UG Courses is directed and monitored by the Dean of the College assisted by a placement coordinator and student representatives from each UG department. The main objectives of the Cell is to provide students pre-placement training and to empower them with communicative skills. The PG courses MSW and MCJ have their own independent placement activities under the guidance of the departmental heads assisted by faculty and students of the respective departments.The MCJ department, in its own initiative, provides intensive pre-placement trainings and career orientation sessions to its students. They are given vigorous coaching in developing communication and translation skills, building a strong base in contemporary affairs and general knowledge, etc.  It is heartening to mention here that the ninth batch of MCJ (2013-2014) pass out students achieved 100% placement, like their predecessors in the past year. They were absorbed by print media such as Malayala Manorama, Deccan Chronicle and DC Books and Television channels such as Asianet and reporter, FM stations, Radio Mango, radio Mattoli.

Don Bosco Chapel located at the first floor of Don Bosco house  celebrates morning mass in Malayalam everyday at 7 a.m, except on Sundays it is at 7.30 a.m. The College chapel choir, made up of students, sings at morning services on all days. On Sundays, mass is celebrated in English. The Chapel is open throughout the day for students and staff to have a peaceful and serene time for prayer and  meditation.  The College Canteen is located at a separate large spacious independent cottage to cater the needs of students and staff. It has a seating capacity for at least  60 students at a time. The canteen functions all working days from morning 8 o’clock and remains open till the close of college hours. The Canteen is leased to private caterers on an annual contract basis. Its functioning is supervised by a committee headed by principal consisting of teachers and students. The service of the canteen include serving tea, coffee, snacks and meals at subsidized and affordable prices to students and staff. At special occasions they are given orders to supply food for invited guests and well wishers. The Canteen premises are kept neat and tidy giving special attention to hygiene and cleanliness.  The College has hostels for male and female students with facilities for study, recreation and common living. We also privately hire houses close to the college to accommodate female   students and arrange to provide all facilities including a cook. Admissions to the hostels are done only after admission to the College has been secured on first come first basis. Admission to the college hostel is not a matter of right but depends on availability and the discretion of the College authorities and hostel warden. The College library is located on the ground floor facing the main entrance to the college. Library has a well stock of text and reference books to support the postgraduate curriculum of Communication and Journalism, Social work, Commerce and undergraduate curriculum of Management, English language and Literature, Mathematics, and Computer science. Library collections also include periodicals, magazines, science, social work, and humanities journals, fictions in English and Malayalam, career guidance books, etc.
