The Central Library is the hub of information services in the university. It serves as a creative and innovative partner in supporting the teaching, learning, and research activities. With a fast growing collection, both in digital and print format using state-of-the-art facilities, currently the Central Library has more than 87,000 books, over 2250 CD-ROMs and subscribes to more than 134 national and international journals/magazines in print. The learning resources are upgraded regularly as per the requirements and the indent received from users. Even students can place an indent for procuring books which are of interest to them. The library resource Centre is fully automated. For this we have specialized user-friendly library software called Alice for Windows (AfW). The Centre has adopted latest information technologies like CDs, DVDs, Multimedia Kits, Bar-code Scanners, etc. Users can access online databases and also find out the real-time availability of library material from their own computer terminals. The library is linked with DELNET (Developing Library Network) http://delnet.nic.in. The users of the Library enjoy access to reading materials through this network. Library users are able to access online journals of IEEE, since July 2003 onwards, through the consortium, INDEST (Indian National Digital Library in Science and Technology). We endeavor to further improve all our efforts to facilitate right information to the right user at the right time
