Admissions at IHM Shimla

Institute of Hotel Management, Catering & Nutrition, Shimla provides admission in the B.Sc and diploma programs in hotel management. Candidates who want to get admission at any of the colleges may visit the website directly and may then fill the application form. Admission to the B.Sc program will be done on the basis of 12th scores followed by a performance in JEE examination while admission to other diploma programs will be done on the basis of scores on 12th examination. The college also offers some short term programs. Information regarding these programs is available on the website of IHM Shimla.

Institute of Hotel Management, Catering & Nutrition (IHM), Shimla Admission Latest Update

NCHM JEE 2026 application correction window is now open and will remain available until April 4, 2026. Registered candidates can update their personal and academic details, including Name, Parents’ Name, Date of Birth, Class 10 & 12 information, Gender, Category, and Exam City/State, through the official portal at nchnmcjexam.nta.nic.in.The NCHMCT JEE 2026 exam is scheduled to be held on April 25, 2026.

NCHMCT JEE 2026 registration deadline has been extended. The last date to apply is April 1, 2026. Candidates can register online on the official website at nchmjee.nta.nic.in for admission to UG courses in Hotel Management and Hospitality Administration. The NCHMCT JEE 2026 exam is scheduled to be held on April 25, 2026.

  • Candidates who are applying for admission in B.Sc program at Institute of Hotel Management, Shimla must have cleared 12th examination or its equivalent with English as one of the main subject. 
  • Candidates who are appearing in the final year of the examination can apply for provisional admission. These candidates should have appeared for the JEE examination.
  • The maximum age limit for admission in the B.Sc program at IHM Shimla is 22 years for general candidates while maximum age limit for the candidates belonging from Schedule Tribe or Scheduled Caste is 25 years as on 1st July of the applying year.

IHM Shimla B.Sc Selection Process

Selection to the B.Sc program at IHM Shimla will be done on the basis of Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) examination. The selection process will be conducted by the National Council for Hotel Management & Catering Technology (NCHMCT), Pusa every year in the month of December/ January. Admission notification will be released in the leading newspapers. Candidates who have scored a good percentage will then have to appear for the counselling round. Selection for the counselling process will totally depend on the percentages of candidates. After that, the college will assign dates to the candidates for admission. Any candidate who failed to submit the fee by the last date will not be permitted for admission.

  • Candidates who are applying for admission in Diploma in food and beverage Service (DFBS) at Institute of Hotel Management, Shimla must have cleared 12th examination or its equivalent with English as one of the main subject. 
  • The maximum age limit for admission in the Diploma in food production program at IHM Shimla is 22 years for general candidates while maximum age limit for the candidates belonging from Schedule Tribe or Scheduled Caste is 25 years as on 1st July of the applying year. 

Candidates placed in compartment in the qualifying examination will not be permitted for admission.

Selection for the diploma program will be done on the basis of scores in 12th class. Candidates who get selected may visit the college for fee submission.
