IIIT Delhi BTech Admission Process 2026

IIIT Delhi BTech admission process uses Joint Admission Counselling (JAC) Delhi counselling based on the JEE Main ranks and bonus points. JAC Delhi conducts 5 rounds to allocate seats, with spot rounds for leftovers. Admitted students must complete document verification and fee payment. While most of the specialisations require the Joint entrance examination scorecard, the students must note that admission to the BTech Computer Science and Social Sciences and BTech Computer Science and Design require either of JEE Main, UCEED, or class 12 scores.

Counselling Steps

  • The candidates must participate in mock allotments to adjust choices.
  • They need to accept allotted seat and pay partial fees of INR 95,000.

Verification Steps

  • After paying the seat acceptance fee, they need to submit the original documents in physical format in-person at the institute.

The candidates should keep at least 2 sets of self-attested photocopies of all mandatory documents, as one set is usually retained by the institute and the other can be used for verification or record purposes. Additionally, IIIT Delhi typically requires 4 to 6 recent passport-size photographs, matching the ones used in the JEE Main application and counselling records, as they are used for admission forms, institute ID cards, hostel records, and other administrative requirements.

  • After the full payment of INR 365,000, the BTech students must join orientation.

IIIT Delhi BTech Admission Dates 2026

IIIT Delhi BTech admission dates for 2026 align with the timeline of JEE Main 2026, UCEED 2026 and JAC Delhi counselling. The process moves steadily from entrance testing to seat allotment, choice filling, and verification stages, ensuring adequate time for candidates to make informed decisions. Final admission confirmation occurs only after seat freezing, document verification, and fee payment are completed, with academic classes expected to commence shortly after the conclusion of counselling and spot rounds.

The JAC Delhi counselling for the 2026 session is expected to start from the 3rd week of May 2026, while the result of the Joint Entrance Examination 2026 is likely to be out by mid-February and late April 2026 for session 1 and session 2. UCEED 2026 will take place on January 18, 2026 and the result will be out on March 6, 2026.

IIIT Delhi JEE Main Cutoff 2025

IIIT Delhi JEE Main cutoff for 2025 shows a clear hierarchy in competitiveness across BTech specialisations, with core computer science programmes closing at much lower ranks compared to interdisciplinary and electronics-focused branches. Computer Science and Applied Mathematics (CSAM) and Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence (CSAI) recorded some of the strongest cutoffs, with General category closing ranks largely concentrated in the 2,000–4,000 range, indicating high demand among top JEE Main performers. Traditional Computer Science and Engineering–aligned programmes continued to attract strong interest, while Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) and Electronics Engineering (VLSI) displayed comparatively relaxed cutoffs extending beyond the 5,000–8,000 rank range for the General category

  • BTech CSE cutoff tightened by around 5–7% compared to 2024, making it the most competitive programme at the institute.
  • BTech Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence recorded a noticeable 4–6% rise, reflecting the surge in AI-focused aspirants nationwide.
  • Electronics and Communication Engineering and Engineering Physics with Electronics cutoffs increased by about 2–4%, indicating moderate but consistent demand growth.
  • Social sciences and economics-linked programmes showed 0–3% variation, with some categories even seeing slight easing due to limited seat pools and specialised interest.

IIIT Delhi UCEED Cutoff 2026 (Expected)

IIIT Delhi BTech UCEED Cutoff 2026 is likely to tighten slightly due to stable seat intake and consistently rising demand for the Computer Science and Design (CSD) programme. With UCEED participation increasing every year and limited seats offered by IIIT Delhi through this route, the 2026 cutoff is expected to remain competitive, especially in the General category, while reserved categories may see marginal rank relaxation.

  • The General category closing rank is expected to improve by around 3–6% compared to 2025 due to higher competition.
  • The OBC-NCL and EWS cutoffs may tighten by 2–4%, reflecting steady interest without major seat expansion.
  • The SC and ST categories may show minimal change (±2%), as seat demand and participation remain stable year on year.

IIIT Delhi BTech Cutoff Trends

IIIT Delhi BTech cutoff trends show CSE closing ranks dropping from 6,000 in 2023 to 7,429 in 2025 in the JEE Main for general open gender-neutral, while ECE rose to 14,500. Overall, top branches tightened by 10-15% over three years due to increased applications. On the other hand, UCEED cutoff over recent years shows a gradual tightening pattern, particularly in the General category, driven by growing awareness of the CSD programme and its placement outcomes. While reserved category cutoffs fluctuate mildly, the overall trend points toward increasing competitiveness rather than volatility.

  • The JEE Main 2025 saw highest demand for CSAI, with closing at 8,000 versus 7,000 in 2024.
  • ECE cutoffs stabilized, easing 5% from 2023's 13,000.
  • Newer branches like CSECON entered at 10,000 in 2025.
  • The General category cutoff in UCEED went up by nearly 8–10% over the last two cycles, making the admission to the Computer Science and Design quite tough.
  • In the last 3 years in UCEED, the OBC-NCL and EWS ranks have remained relatively stable, with changes mostly within a 3–5% band.

Overall: The overall experience of my college is good. The placement opportunities are satisfactory, and the atmosphere is positive with a good crowd, although the college is quite expensive it provides good facilities

Placement: Placements are the main part, our college provides good placements but due to recession the companies coming to recruit has decreased and so is the placement. This will be fixed with the time as recession might not last for long time

Infrastructure: My college is equipped with good infrastructure, we have a library which is open 24/7 and a lab which has high end computers and is also available 24/7

Faculty: We have faculties who have done their phds from iits, iiscs and various famous foreign universities. They are available all the time to help you regarding the course, assignments and everything concerning them.

Hostel: Our colleges hostel can be considered as the best hostel in the entire country when it comes to government aided colleges, the washrooms are very neat and tidy.

Overall: One of the best decisions I’ve made was to work hard to get into my college IIIT Delhi. I can say that it was worth it. The college lives up to its reputations. They provide us with every need we would ever have.

Placement: As this is a highly prestigious college, placements will easily be available to most of them but in order to get a great package, one must work hard to maintain their CGPA in an impressive level. The placement workshops helped us on this matter

Faculty: The Faculty at IIIT Delhi are highly experienced. All of them have phd from IITs or from other foreign countries. They are experts in their fields. Despite all that they are really friendly to us and encourage us to ask doubts in the class.

Hostel: The hostels were really clean spacious and felt great. The visual from the balcony was marvellous. They clean the corridors every day and the bathrooms are kept clean all the time. Hot and cold water will be available. We will have to clean our own room

Overall: Overall a good college but the fests suck sometimes and useless events on going always on with some useless seminars all the time the mess food canteen folks are happy ew XD But the campus and buildings ain't that bad.

Placement: placements are one of the best things about the college the average package for btech and mtech both is great dont know a lot about the Ph.D. placements.

Infrastructure: infrastructure is pretty good and the RND block area and the lights look pretty at nighttime but the campus location is not that good it is in a local area with some houses with the campus boundary faculty area is better and attached to the RND building.

Faculty: a decent faculty with some visiting faculty and professors with decent efforts so far a great part of campus for the faculty buildings as well great service overall but the fees is not worth it.

Hostel: new hostels(H1, H2) have larger rooms and more sanity than the old hostels for boys hostels are decent too with any kind of support the hostel guard or FMS services.
