The Ministry of Education (MoE) has released the NIRF ranking 2025. As per the rankings, IIT Roorkee has achieved an NIRF rank of 8 in the Research Institutions category with a score of 67.27, 6 in the Engineering category with a score of 75.44, 22 in the Management category with a score of 61.77, 1 in the Architecture and Planning category with a score of 83.95, 8 in the Innovation category, 6 in the SDG Institutions category, and 7 in the Overall category with a score of 71.73.

October 08, 2025IIT Roorkee and Maithri Aquatech Join Hands to Pioneer Sustainable Water Solutions in India - The Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee (IIT Roorkee) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Maithri Aquatech Pvt. Ltd. to collaborate on advancing sustainable water solutions through Atmospheric Water Generation (AWG) technology. This partnership aims to enhance water access, climate resilience, and social impact, particularly in water-stressed regions of India. The collaboration will focus on joint research, technology development, pilot demonstrations, and capacity building through technical training and workshops. It aligns with India's National Water Mission and contributes to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDG 6: Clean Water and Sanitation; SDG 13: Climate Action).
