The boarding accommodation made available by our group of institutions, for students who choose to live close to the campus, is a home away from home.Separate housing and dining facilities are available for boys and girls, in hostel blocks that have been specifically established for the students of Indian Academy Group of Institutions. These premises are located very close to the campuses of IAGI.

Hostel rooms are well-ventilated and adequately lit. Well-trained security staff extend round the clock security to our hostelites. Each room is furnished with suitable furniture and has access to washrooms, reading rooms, indoor sports area, etc. Full-fledged dining facilities ensure fresh food is served on a regular basis. In-house wardens are the custodians of hostels,who ensure smooth functioning. Accommodation in these hostels is limited; the rooms are sanctioned as per IAGI hostel admission norms.

National Service Scheme (NSS)

NSS program is aimed at inculcating societal obligations of an individual and promote the spirit of community service among students. ‘NOT ME, BUT YOU’ is the motto of NSS, reflecting the the value of selfless service to the society.

Indian Academy Degree College, Indian Academy College of Nursing and Indian Academy Pre-University College have established NSS units in association with the respective universities and Boards. We have healthy student enrollments in our NSS units across the colleges in IAGI.
Faculty members are given additional role as NSS Coordinator to carryout NSS activities in the colleges.

NSS activities are designed and implemented to promote the objectives of National Service Scheme. NSS camps are conducted to help students understand the needs and problems faced by people and involve them in solving some of these problems.

Some of the major NSS initiatives at IAGI include:

• AIDS awareness rallies
• Awareness rallies conducted to sensitize public in on Road Safety and Traffic Rules
• A camp to sensitize public in the significance of voting along with Voter ID registration
• Blood donation camps in association with the Rotary Club and renowned Blood Banks
• An eye screening camp in association with Vasan Eye Care
• Demo on Fire Hazards on the occasion of Fire Day as an awareness programme in association with Hebbal Fire Station, Bangalore.
• Energy Conservation Day on every second Saturday of the month.
• Judiciary Support for Women’s Safety in association with Vanitha Sahayavani, Police Commissioner Office, Bangalore.
• Awareness rally on Environmental issues in Karnataka State Council for Science and Technology on World Environment Day.
• Tree plantation in the neighborhood in association with Bangalore Bruhut Mahanagara Palike.

National Cadet Corps (NCC)

With its motto of “Unity and Discipline”, the NCC has become instrumental in moulding character and imparting in our students, a dynamic outlook during their college education.

Indian Academy Degree College has established a NCC unit with authorized cadet strength of 54. This NCC unit attached to the NCC directorate of KAR & GOA, Bangalore. 6/B Company NCC of Indian Academy Degree College, Bangalore is attached to 8 Karnataka BN NCC, Karnataka and Goa Directorate.

The mission and vision of our NCC wing is to create awareness among the student community regarding its importance towards nation building. Besides, an NCC cadet is presented with a plethora of job opportunities in reputed government and public sector concerns. NCC fine tunes the personality of a person in total and mentally equips him to face the various challenges he/she may encounter in his/her life.
