Government Institute of Forensic Science (popularly known as Institute of Forensic Science or IFSC, Nagpur) was established in the year 1906. It is only third such institution, situated in the state of Maharashtra and the first in the Vidarbha region. The institute is managed by the Government Of Maharashtra and affiliated with the University of Mumbai. Institute of Forensic Science is awarded “A Center with Potential for Excellence” and “A Jewel in a Crown”. The institute provides undergraduate and postgraduate programs in forensic science. It also offers PG Diploma courses in two specialisations namely Digital and Cyber Forensic and Related Law and Forensic Science and Related Law. The mission of the institute is to provide affordable world-class forensic education through training, projects, research and investigation.
