Jagannath Barooah College (abbreviated JB College) was established on 19 August, 1930. It is an autonomous college, situated in Jorhat, which is a city and one of the important urban center in the state of Assam, India. JB College is affiliated with Dibrugarh University and accredited with UGC (University Grant Commission). In 2003, It was accredited by the NAAC (National Assessment and Accreditation Council) and awarded “B+” grade on the behalf of its performance in the area of higher education. The college provides Bachelor of Arts (B.A), Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.), Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com), Bachelor of Computer Application (BCA) programs. It also offers postgraduate programs in different specializations including Geography, Philosophy, Assamese, Political Science, Commerce and Computer Application. The college is well-equipped with all the modern facilities including Library, Hostel, Canteen, Sports, Laboratory and Medical.
