Kalinga University UG Eligibility Criteria 2026

Candidates applying for undergraduate courses at Kalinga University must have passed Class 10+2 or equivalent from a recognised board. The minimum aggregate marks required are 45% for the general category and 40% for SC/ST/OBC candidates. BBA, BCA, and BCom do not have any minimum marks under their eligibility criteria.

 Kalinga University PG Eligibility Criteria 2026

For all postgraduate programmes, candidates need a graduation degree from a recognised university. Most PG courses need at least 45% marks (40% for the reserved category) in the qualifying degree. MCom and MSc do not require any minimum marks.

Admissions at Kalinga University are primarily entrance-based. Most undergraduate and postgraduate programmes use the Kalinga Scholastic Entrance Examination, also known as KALSEE. The MBA and BBA programmes additionally use KAL-MAT. CUET scores are accepted for select UG programmes. The process differs slightly between programmes but follows the same broad steps.

Kalinga University BTech Admission Process 2026

BTech is the flagship programme at Kalinga University. Admission is through KALSEE with four specialisations: Computer Science & Engineering (CSE), Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, and Civil Engineering. The total BTech fee ranges from INR 646,350 to INR 949,350 for 4 years.

• The candidates must visit kalingauniversity.ac.in and register for KALSEE by filling in the application form and paying the fee of INR 1,400 online (or by demand draft/cash for offline mode).
• After successful payment, the candidates will receive their user ID, password, and test scheduling link via email within 24 hours.
• They must book the KALSEE test slot at a Pearson VUE test centre at least 48 hours before their preferred date. Slots are allotted first-come, first-served. Test centres are available across India and abroad.
• The candidates must appear for KALSEE, which is a 90-minute computer-based test (CBT) of 90 MCQs covering physics, chemistry, mathematics, and English. No negative marking is there. The qualifying score is 50%.
• Results are announced on the university portal. Shortlisted candidates are notified for document verification.
• The candidates must submit original documents at the time of the personal interview and document verification at the university.
• They must pay the admission fee within 10 working days of selection. Failure to do so will result in cancellation and seat allotment to the next candidate on the waiting list.

Kalinga University MBA Admission Process 2026

MBA at Kalinga University offers 9 specialisations. Admission is through KAL-MAT, a university-level management aptitude test. The programme focuses on soft skills, aptitude, and group discussions alongside academics.

• The candidates must fill out the Kalinga University admission form for an MBA on the official portal and pay the application fee of INR 2000
• Receive User ID, Password, and KAL-MAT scheduling link within 24 hours of payment.

Kalinga University UG Admission Process 2026

Kalinga University offers 30 UG programmes. Apart from BTech, there are courses like BBA, BCA, BCom, BA, BPharm, LLB, BA LLB, BBA LLB, BSc, BJMC, B.Ed., etc. The admission process for those undergraduate courses is as follows:

• The candidates must register on kalingauniversity.ac.in and fill out the online application form. They must pay INR 1,400-INR 2500 as an application fee. The same form is applicable for all UG/PG courses.
• They must schedule the KALSEE test slot. Alternatively, if applying through CUET (for BA, BCom, BSc, BBA, BCA), the candidates must submit their CUET scorecard at the time of document verification.
• The candidates appear for KALSEE, which is a 90-minute CBT with 90 MCQs and no negative marking. The qualifying marks are 50%.
• After results, shortlisted candidates will receive a call for document verification.
• The shortlisted candidates, who will join the university for their respective courses, must pay the admission fee within 10 working days and submit original documents to confirm the seat.

Kalinga University PG Admission Process 2026

Kalinga University offers more than 20 PG courses, such as MSc, MA, MCA, MCom, LLM, MEd, etc. Apart from the MBA, all the other postgraduate courses offered here follow the KALSEE route. For MTech, GATE scores are also accepted. While general aptitude is the common section in the KALSEE test for all the PG courses, for LLM, instead of the general aptitude, the legal awareness section is there.

• The candidates must register on kalingauniversity.ac.in and fill out the application form (same form for UG and PG). They must pay an INR 1,200-INR 2500 as an application fee.
• They must schedule and appear for KALSEE (90-minute CBT). MTech applicants with a GATE score can be exempted from the exam.
• They must attend document verification after shortlisting.
• The shortlisted candidates must confirm admission by paying the fee within 10 working days and submitting original documents.

Kalinga University PhD Admission Process 2026

PhD admissions require a PG degree with 55% marks. The KALSEE for PhD is 120 minutes compared to 90 minutes for UG/PG. The application fee for PhD via KALSEE is INR 3,000. Shortlisted candidates must attend a research proposal presentation and interview.

Kalinga University applications can be submitted both online and offline. The same application form is valid for all UG and PG courses. For MBA/BBA, use the KAL-MAT registration link. Below is the step-by-step process.

• Shortlisted candidates must pay the admission fee within 10 working days of selection. They need to submit original certificates during document verification. The seat is confirmed only after fee payment.

BTech at Kalinga University is the most sought-after programme, offering 4 specialisations, namely AIML, computer science and engineering, mechanical, electrical, and civil engineering. The course duration is 4 years. The BTech eligibility criteria are to have a minimum of 50% in 10+2 with physics, mathematics, and chemistry/biology/CS/IT/biotechnology as compulsory subjects. 

• Kalinga University fees during admission are INR 74,450.
• The BTech seat intake is 300.
• Lateral entry candidates need 45% in 10+2 with physics, mathematics, and chemistry/biology/CS/IT/biotechnology as compulsory subjects for BTech admission.

Kalinga University MTech admission 2026 is open for a 2-year postgraduate engineering programme. Admission is through KALSEE or a valid GATE score. The BPharm eligibility criteria are to have at least 45% in 10+2 with physics, chemistry, biology, or mathematics as compulsory subjects. The course duration for BPharm is 4 years.

Kalinga University MPharm admission for the 2026 cycle is open for a 2-year PCI-approved postgraduate pharmacy programme. Admission is through KALSEE or a valid GPAT score. To be eligible for admission to MPharm, candidates must have at least 45% in BPharm.

• Reserved candidates with 40% in BPharm are eligible to apply for the programme.
• During MPharm admission, the candidates must pay INR 72,000.

Kalinga University offers 3 UG aw programmes, namely LLB, BA LLB, and BBA LLB. The university is approved by the Bar Council of India (BCI). Admission to the law courses relies on the KALSEE legal aptitude test. The duration of the UG law courses range from 3 years to 5 years. 

• During BA/BBA LLB admission, candidates need to pay INR 65,900.
• During LLB admission, candidates need to pay INR 38,400.
• The seat intake for the UG law courses is 540 combined. 

Kalinga University LLM admission for the 2026 cycle is open. It’s a 1-year BCI-approved postgraduate law programme. LLM selection criteria are to have the scorecard of the KALSEE 2026 test. Except for the LLB/BA LLB/BBA LLB, graduates from other courses are not eligible for the programme.

• For LLM admission, the LLB/BA LLB/BBA LLB graduates need at least 45% in graduation.

The course duration is 3 years and is offered under the Faculty of Information Technology. To be eligible for the programme, candidates must have mathematics and science subjects in 10+2. There is no minimum marks requirement. During BCA admission, the candidates need to pay INR 37,000.

Kalinga University MCA admission 2026 is open. The selection criteria are to have a valid scorecard of KALSEE 2026. The course duration is 2 years and is offered under the Faculty of Information Technology. To be eligible for the programme, candidates must have 50% in BCA.

The course covers print, digital, broadcast journalism, PR, and advertising. The selection criteria are to have the scorecard of KALSEE 2026. No prior journalism background is required.

• During BJMC admission, candidates need to pay INR 38,400.

Kalinga University MJMC admission for the 2026 cycle is open. This 2-year postgraduate programme is offered under the Faculty of Media and Communication. The course covers digital journalism, media management, documentary filmmaking, and strategic communication. The selection criteria are to have the scorecard of KALSEE 2026.

Kalinga University BCom admission 2026 is open. The BCom selection criteria is to have the KALSEE 2026 scorecard. However, candidates with a valid scorecard of CUET UG 2026 can also take admission without appearing for KALSEE. The course covers accounting, finance, taxation, and business law. Candidates from the Commerce stream in Class 12 are preferred, though any stream is eligible. They need at least 45% in 10+2.

Kalinga University MA admission for the 2026 cycle is open for 2-year postgraduate programmes in humanities and social sciences. Admission is done through KALSEE. Kalinga University B.Ed and B.P.Ed admissions for the 2026 cycle are open for candidates aspiring to teaching careers. Both programmes are NCTE-approved. B.Ed course duration is 2 years, and the B.P.Ed. is 3 years. The minimum qualifying marks required are 50%, which is higher than most other UG programmes at the university.

Kalinga University M.Ed admission for the 2026 cycle is open. It's a 2-year NCTE-approved postgraduate programme for B.Ed graduates. The selection criteria is to have a valid scorecard of KALSEE.

• Candidates need a minimum of 50% in B.Ed from a recognised university to be eligible (45% for SC/ST/OBC). No other graduation degree qualifies for M.Ed admission.
• During admission to the master’s of education, candidates need to pay INR 23,200.

Kalinga University PhD admission for 2026 is open across all 14 departments, including engineering, management, science, pharmacy, law, education, and humanities. The PhD KALSEE is 120 minutes and carries a higher application fee of INR 2,000. Shortlisted candidates must present a research proposal. The PhD programme is available in full-time and part-time modes; the minimum duration is 3 years and the maximum is 6 years as per UGC regulations. Candidates need a minimum of 55% marks (50% for SC/ST/OBC) in their master’s in the relevant discipline from a recognised university.
