Kurukshetra University (KUK) 2026 admissions are open for UG, PG, Integrated, Diploma, Certificate, and PhD programmes through the university's centralised IUMS portal at iums.kuk.ac.in. Kurukshetra University  PG applications have been started. The last date to register is 7 July, 2026.

KUK admission process is both entrance-based and merit-based depending on the course. KUK offers two modes of admission, Regular and Private. Regular seats are merit-based with government-supported fees. Private mode seats (also called self-financed seats) carry slightly higher fees and have a separate merit list on the same IUMS portal. Both routes use the same application process at iums.kuk.ac.in.

Kurukshetra University BTech admission requires a valid JEE Main 2026 score and participation in HSTES counselling. PG admission is based on the merit score in the qualifying examination, like most MA and MSc programmes require CUET PG 2026, MTech needs GATE. MBA admission goes through CAT/CMAT, and most UG arts/science/commerce programmes accept CUET UG scores or 10+2 merit. 

Kurukshetra University distance and online programmes operate through the Centre for Distance and Online Education (CDOE) with a separate admission window at ddekuk.ac.in.

Kurukshetra University admission 2026 eligibility varies by programme level and stream. UG admissions require a 10+2 pass with subject-specific requirements; PG admissions require a relevant bachelor's degree. BTech requires 10+2 PCM with 45% and a valid JEE Main rank. • Kurukshetra University PhD Eligibility 2026: Master's degree with 55% (50% for SC/ST/OBC); KUK Research Entrance Test (RET) and interview required. UGC NET / CSIR NET / GATE / JRF qualified candidates are exempt from the written test.

A 5% marks relaxation applies to SC, ST, BC-A, BC-B, and PwBD candidates across all programmes.

Kurukshetra University course admission differs by course, as BTech goes through HSTES centralised counselling; most UG programmes follow CUET UG scores or 10+2 merit via the DHE Haryana portal or the KUK IUMS portal; PG programmes use CUET PG or the KUK PG entrance test. • Appear for the Entrance Exam: Appear for the relevant entrance exam based on your course — JEE Main 2026 (BTech), CAT/CMAT (MBA), CUET PG / KUK PG Entrance Test (MA / MSc / MCom / MCA), or KUK Law Entrance Test (LLB / BA LLB). UG arts, science, and commerce admissions accept CUET UG 2026 scores or 10+2 merit.
• Download Rank Card / Score Card: Collect your score card or rank card from the respective portal after the results.
• Visit the Official Admission Portal: Go to iums.kuk.ac.in for all regular UG and PG programmes. For BTech, visit techadmissionshry.gov.in (HSTES counselling portal). For UG admissions through affiliated colleges, use the DHE Haryana portal at admissions.highereduhry.ac.in.
• Register and fill the Application Form: Click on 'New User Registration' on the IUMS portal and create an account with a valid email ID and mobile number. Log in and complete the application form with personal, academic, and category details. Select your preferred programme and specialisation.
• Upload Documents: Upload scanned copies of required documents. All uploads must be in JPEG format, with a maximum of 500 KB per document.
• Pay the Application Fee: Pay online via net banking, UPI, debit card, or credit card. No offline payment is accepted.
• Check Merit List: For UG/PG, check the KUK IUMS portal for merit list updates, seat allotment results, and counselling rounds. Follow DHE Haryana merit lists for UG in affiliated colleges and HSTES allotment results for BTech admissions
• Accept Seat Allotment: Log in to the respective portal, check your allotted seat, and accept it within the notified window. For HSTES, fill in college and branch preferences in order of priority before each allotment round.
• Attend Document Verification: Report to the allotted department or college on the specified date with all original documents.
• Pay Course Fee and Confirm Admission: Pay the first-year course fee online to confirm your seat. Download and keep the fee payment receipt. Admission is confirmed only after fee payment and physical document verification at the allotted institution.

Note on BTech 2026: HSTES manages all BTech counselling centrally — do not apply on the KUK IUMS portal for BTech. UIET (University Institute of Engineering & Technology), KUK's on-campus engineering institute, also receives seats through this HSTES process. All regular programme applications at Kurukshetra University are submitted online through the IUMS portal at iums.kuk.ac.in. There is no offline mode for university campus programmes. Here is the step-by-step application process for KUK regular courses.

• Visit the official KUK IUMS portal at iums.kuk.ac.in and click on 'Admissions Open 2026-27 (Regular Programmes)'.
• Click on 'New User Registration' and create an account with a valid email ID and mobile number. Keep your login credentials safe.
• Log in with your credentials and click on 'Applicant Login' to access the KUK application form.
• Select the desired course (e.g., MA Economics, MBA, BTech CSE). Fill in all personal and academic details accurately.
• Upload all required academic documents, including mark sheets, certificates, and other supporting documents as specified in the application requirements section of the registration portal, carefully.
• Proceed to payment. Pay the application fee of INR 1,200 (General/OBC/EWS) or INR 300 (SC/BC/PwBD of Haryana) through net banking, UPI, or debit/credit card.
• Review the completed form, submit it, and download the confirmation page. Keep a printout for future reference.

For BTech: Do NOT apply through iums.kseparatelyuk.ac.in. Register at techadmissionshry.gov.in (HSTES) for counselling after JEE Main results

Students must keep the following documents ready when applying online and for reporting to the university/college after seat allotment. All documents must be in JPEG format (max 500 KB) for the online portal. Original documents are required at the time of physical reporting for verification.

Students with disabilities (PwBD) must submit a disability certificate from a government hospital's medical board. Ex-servicemen ward and Sports quota candidates should bring relevant category certificates on the prescribed official proforma to claim their horizontal reservation.

Kurukshetra University Centre for Distance and Online Education (CDOE), formerly the Directorate of Distance Education (DDE). KUK distance courses are approved by UGC-DEB. KUK Distance Education are offered in 40+ ODL (Open and Distance Learning) programmes and 10+ fully online programmes through the kukonline.ac.in portal.

Kurukshetra University Distance Education Admission Process 2026

• Visit the official CDOE portal at ddekuk.ac.in (ODL courses) or kukonline.ac.in (online courses). For BEd distance admission, check the BEd-specific notification separately on the same portal.
• Register and fill out the application form with personal and academic details. Select your preferred programme and medium (English or Hindi, where applicable).
• Upload documents, like Class 10 and 12 marksheets and certificates (for UG), UG degree marksheets and provisional certificate (for PG), passport-size photograph, signature, and category certificate if applicable.
• Create an ABC ID (Academic Bank of Credits) and DEB ID before applying, as both are mandatory under UGC-DEB guidelines for distance education enrolment.
• Pay the application fee online or via a demand draft. INR 800 for General category candidates; INR 200 for SC/BC/Blind candidates from Haryana.
• Submit the form before the last date. Offline applicants must also submit a hard copy of the duly filled form with documents to the CDOE office within 15 days of online submission.
• Admissions are merit-based for most programmes. After the merit list is released, pay the course fee online to confirm your seat.

Kurukshetra University reservation policy 2026-27 follows Haryana government norms for all on-campus seats and extends to affiliated college admissions managed through DHE Haryana. Seats are divided into two pools: 85% reserved for bonafide students of Haryana and 15% open to all-India candidates.

Within the Haryana pool, vertical reservations apply for SC, BC-A, BC-B, and EWS categories. Horizontal reservations (applied across all vertical categories) cover PwBD, Ex-Servicemen, Freedom Fighter wards, Sports, and Kashmiri Migrants.
