The Social Sciences Center of Bharati Vidyapeeth was established in 1981-82 as a Post-Graduate Research and Training Centre to conduct, organise and undertake specialised studies in the field of Social Sciences. The Social Sciences Centre is a grant in aid Institution under the Directorate of Social Welfare, Govt. of Maharashtra. The specific objective of the centre is to impart education for the practice of professional social work leading to the post-graduate degree in social work viz. Master of Social Work (M.S.W.). The M.S.W. Course is recognized by the Directorate of Social Welfare Govt.of Maharashtra vide its letter No. SSW/Recog/B.V./83/D-6,dt.12-7-1982. The modern teaching methodology assists the students in getting an all around view of engineering, technology and the entrepreneur world. The diligent faculty team of the college possesses hands-on experience and up to date knowledge of their subject and area of expertise. The infrastructure and facilities of SSC consists of spread-out campus alongside various amenities in the form of library, computer center, classrooms with proper teaching and learning aids, medical facilities etc. The institute seeks to place each of its students in an organization/company of great repute.  For every course the college imparts practical training to its students that helps them to understand better, improve their demonstrative skills, eliminate hesitation and in this process strives to mould them into industry ready professionals.

Organizing campus interviews of M.S.W. students. Every year around 10 organizations visits the institute and selects around 15 to 20 students out of 60 for different positions i.e. as a Social Worker, Counselor, Project Officer, Personnel Officer, H.R. Officer etc.
