In 2003, Nirma University in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, was founded. The road to the university's foundation has been long. The Nirma Education and Research Foundation (NERF) was founded in 1994 by industrialist Dr. Karsanbhai K Patel, the founder of the Nirma Group of Industries, to assist higher education and provide good educational facilities to India's youth. Nirma University admission is based on entrance exam scores. The session 2 of JEE Main will be held from April 4 to 15, 2024 for BTech admissions at the university.

Nirma University Eligibility Criteria for 2024

• B.Tech admissions are based on a valid GUJCET or JEE Main score (35 percent seats in the All India category) and the ‘Gujarat Admission Committee for Professional Courses’ (ACPC).
• B.Arch admissions are based on a valid NATA score (35 percent seats in the All India category) and the ‘Gujarat Admission Committee for Professional Courses’ (ACPC).
• Admission to the B.Pharm programme is solely dependent on the ACPC test.
• Students must pass the CLAT exam to be admitted to Integrated LLB programmes.
• To be admitted to the B.Des programme, students must take the Nirma University written test and interview.
• The IPMAT result is used to determine admission to the BBA+MBA programme, which is followed by an interview and performance in Class 12.
• GATE and GPAT scores are used to determine admission to M.Tech and M.Pharma programmes. The university has its own entrance test for non-GATE and non-GPAT candidates.
• Admission to the B.Tech+MBA programme is dependent on genuine JEE Mains scores.
• Candidates who have completed the CAT are able to apply for the MBA programme, while the POI, FN, and CISWA-SEA categories require a GMAT score.

• Selection criteria: On the basis of CAT score and interview. Candidates belonging to PIO and CISWA-SEA categories have to appear in GMAT.
• Eligibility criteria: Students must have a bachelors degree or a masters degree from a recognized university, or a bachelors degree with three years of supervisory/ managerial/ professional experience or a professional degree in engineering/ technology/ medicine/ architecture/ law or a professional qualification in accountancy/ cost and work accounting/ company secretaryship, etc.

For MCA Admissions

• Selection criteria: Based on merit through ACPC
• Eligibility criteria: Graduation under Class 12 + graduation pattern with statistics or mathematics at Class 12 or graduation level.
•  MCA (Lateral Entry): BCA or B.Sc (Computer Science or IT) with 50% marks (45% for SC/ST/SEBC)

For PhD Admissions

Eligibility criteria: 

• PhD (full-time): Master's degree OR M.Phil in the related discipline with at least 55% marks in aggregate. 
• PhD (part-time): Master's degree OR M.Phil in the related discipline with at least 55% aggregate mark. 

Selection criteria:

• PhD (full-time): Written test and interview conducted by the university or CSIR-NET/ UGC-NET/ SLET/ GPAT or GATE score
• PhD (part-time): Written test and interview conducted by the university or CSIR-NET/ UGC-NET/ SLET/ GPAT or GATE score

For B.Tech admissions

Candidates must have passed Class 12 with physics, chemistry, and mathematics from a recognised university and an overall JEE score of at least 55% for 35% of seats in the ‘All India’ category and 15% of seats in the NRI/ NRI sponsored category, the main score will be considered. Under the ACPC category, 50% of the seats will be filled.

For B.Arch admissions

Class 12 from a recognised board with Mathematics (compulsory), NATA scores will be accepted for 35% of seats in the All India category and 15% of seats in the NRI/ NRI Sponsored category. Under the ACPC category, 50% of the seats will be filled.

For B.Des admissions

• Obtained 50% in a Central/ State government-recognized Class 12 or three-year diploma, or an IB diploma, or any other equivalent test. Entrance examination (50 percent weighting), situation examination (30 percent weighting), and personal interview (20 percent weightage)
• The situation test will assess applicants' design aptitude by assessing their talents in 2D and 3D visualisation, inventiveness, material handling, and creating dexterity.
• Candidates will be evaluated based on their general awareness, aptitudes, and interests, as well as the quality of their replies to social and cultural concerns. The interview panel may exhibit the candidate's capacity to explain thoughts through creative work done by the student (portfolio).
