The college now has the student population of nearly three thousand and for their part, the students are offered quite a remarkable list of 16 ‘Honours’ and 17 ‘Pass’ subjects to choose from. In the realm of higher education of the district, Rabindra Mahavidyalaya has already carved a niche for itself. A good many number of students, who mainly hail from the community of local peasantry, ably overcome the normal constraints of their rural backwardness to make glorious marks at various levels of the university examination.The College has got a centralized Computerized Library with about 34,000 books.14 acres campus area including pond, play ground, Eco-friendly greenaries and open spaces to offer an ideal learning ambiance.NSS – four units (each having a capacity of 100 students) NCC (for Boys’ and Girls’ Cadets),Outdoor and indoor games, Multi-Gymnasium and eleven-sided playground.After the independence of India in 1947, NCC was introduced by the Central Government. Our college opted for NCC Programme for our boys in the senior division of the Army Wing. Girl Cadets are also included in our NCC Company.The Education Commission headed by Dr. D.S. Kothari (1964-66) recommended that students at all stages of education be associated with some form of social service. After several debates and discussions, the Union Education Minister in 1969, with the support of University Grants Commission, launched the programme of NSS in the colleges.
