About Sardar Bhagwan Singh University
Established as the Sardar Bhagwan Singh Post Graduate Institute of Biomedical Sciences & Research in 1994, It was a pioneer in professional education, not just in Uttarakhand, but throughout the Northern Region. The institute was the first privately run institute to offer BPharm. It was granted the status of a university by the Uttarakhand Government through the Sardar Bhagwan Singh University Act, 2016 (Uttarakhand Act No. 12 of 2018).
Established in 2018, the University currently ventures into a variety of fields such as commerce, agricultural sciences and forestry, management, biotechnology, basic sciences, medical lab technology and microbiology, keeping in mind the employment opportunities and aspirations of the young aspirants. The SBS University courses are offered at UG, PG and PhD levels. The university has 30 years of holistic and comprehensive education. It is governed by the Gaurav Bharti Shiksha Sansthan society. The Sardar Bhagwan Singh University fees for the courses offered range from Rs 1,86,000 to Rs 6,74,400 per year.
Admission to these programmes is determined by the candidate's academic merit from their last qualifying examination from a recognised board or university. It seeks to provide an outstanding education to students from the Sikh Minority community, however, the Sardar Bhagwan Singh University course admissions are open to all students regardless of their category, caste, creed, or religion.
The placement cell is heavily involved in both on-campus and off-campus placement drives for its students. Many national and multinational corporations come to recruit students. It places a strong emphasis on soft skill programmes to help students prepare for mock interviews, improve their communication skills, and develop their personalities as a whole. The academic infrastructure at SBS University is over 20,000 square metres. It covers an area of more than 25 acres. Over 7,500 alumni have been deployed in diverse sectors within India and internationally.

General goods, lodging, transportation, communication, insurance, and other services are available at the Sardar Bhagwan Singh University campus.
Campus Location: The campus is located in the tranquil Doon Valley - The Hub of Education, spread across 25 acres.
Infrastructure: Over 20000 square metres of academic infrastructure, including ultramodern high-tech labs, classrooms, tutorial rooms, computer labs, seminar halls, a large library, and a canteen comprise the well-maintained Sardar Bhagwan Singh University infrastructure.
Extra Curricular Activities/ Clubs: For overall personal development, at SBSU Dehradun, a spirit of engagement is shared and is not limited to classroom instruction. Sports, Cultural and Music Club, Debating Society, Publication Society, Dramatics Club, Philately Society, NCC, Creative Arts Club and Nature Club help students discover their untapped potential. Personality development and English classes help them prepare for a competitive environment.
Student Interaction: A unique and active form of contact with professors for a group of students through Class Committees and Advisors to assist students in all aspects of academic and personal matters is there at the campus.
Laboratories: The labs are well-equipped with all of the contemporary research equipment required.
Research: Promoting high standards of R&D through high-impact publications and scientific presentations. Eighteen government-sponsored research projects have been completed, with more on the way. Twenty-five PhDs have been awarded, with ten more on the way. The university has received over Rs 2 crores in grants from UCOST, AYUSH, and DST. The University is happy to work with organisations to complete their research and development projects in order to meet worldwide demands.
Student Safety Insurance: The University provides Rs 1 Lakh in safety insurance coverage for each student through the "Student Safety Insurance Policy" issued by New India Assurance Co. Ltd., for which students pay a very low annual cost.
Guest and Faculty Accommodation: There is also residential housing accessible for the faculty. The SBS University faculty have already been assigned fifteen furnished flats. Examiners, parents, and other guests can stay in appointed guest rooms and apartments.
General Commodities: Within the campus, the university has arrangements for the procurement of everyday necessities such as stationary, medicines, grocery items, xerox, bakery products, STD/PCO, and a tailor's shop.
Hostels: On campus, there are separate comfortable hostels (AC and non-AC rooms) for boys and girls. In the "Mata Gujri Girls Hostel" and "Banda Bahadur Boys Hostel," the University dormitory houses almost 600 females and 275 boys, respectively. Both dormitories have sanitary mess facilities, well-furnished reading rooms (with the newest publications and newspapers), air-conditioned amusement areas with home theatres, and indoor sports infrastructure. The hostel fees for girls range from Rs 76,000 to Rs 1.36 lakh. The Sardar Bhagwan Singh University hostel fees for boys range from Rs 86,000 to Rs 1.11 lakh.

Scholarship for Local Residents and Girl Students: Admission fee reduction for local residents and Corona Warrior's wards from Uttarakhand is provided in this scholarship scheme.
Merit Scholarship: This is given to deserving and meritorious students with up to a 50% waiver in tuition fees.
Sports Scholarship: Students who participate in sports (basketball, volleyball, cricket, badminton, etc.) receive a 33% tuition fee reduction.
