ACT Test Centres in India 2021

The ACT test is held multiple times in a given year and at various major cities in India including Ahmedabad, Delhi, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Indore, Bhubaneswar, Chennai, Jaipur and so on. Candidates need to choose the ACT test centre at the time of  ACT Registration. The ACT Test Dates and ACT Test Centres can be selected by the applicant according to their preference. 

Around two million students take the ACT test every year from over 130 countries. ACT is an international college admissions test that measures a student’s readiness to apply for admission at universities in the US and over 200 universities in other countries at an undergraduate level. While many universities like the University of IllinoisAuburn University, University of Dayton, New Jersey Institute of Technology have turned into ACT optional colleges they still encourage students to take the ACT test.  Some of the other colleges that have confirmed ACT requirements for admission in 2022 are the University of Central FloridaGeorgia Institute of Technology, Florida State University, University of Florida, University of Central Florida, University of Georgia etc. Meanwhile, Loyola University New OrleansCatholic University, University of California system (all campuses), Caltech have turned ACT test free.  

COVID-19 Update

The list of test centres in India has been updated and is subject to change. Examinees will be asked several health-related questions before checking into an ACT test centre. Policies and procedures have been put in place with guidance from local officials to provide social distancing guidelines to test centres. This would include the availability of hand sanitisers, placing COVID-19-related signage, health screening, wearing Personal Protective Equipment (gloves and masks) on test day, and so on.

This is an updated and complete list of  the ACT test centres locatedin India. The same is subject to change as per the conditions at the time.

It should be noted that the ACT Test centres have the right to make decisions due to the current unprecedented situation. For instance, the test can be cancelled at a specific location or the test centres can be relocated. However, in case any such decision is taken the same will be communicated to the test taker before the day of the test. Students taking the test are advised to check the status of the test centres regularly.

What to Bring to an ACT Test Centre?

Here is the list of things that a candidate needs to bring to the ACT test centre.

  • Valid photo identification. Candidates without the same will not be allowed to take the test.

  • Candidates can bring a traditional watch that does not have an alarm.

  • During the test, the watch shall be removed and placed on the workstation.

  • A permitted calculator to be used for the mathematics test.

  • Candidates will not be allowed to access a cell phone or any electronic device during the test.

Identification Requirements for ACT

Given below are the valid identification documents that candidates need to show at the ACT test.

  • A current official photo ID - Must be an original, valid ID issued by the government or school. 

  • It must be in a hard plastic card format as paper or electronic formats will not be accepted.

  • The first and last name of the candidate must match the name mentioned in the registration form. The photo on the ID should be clearly recognizable as you.

  • Candidates must present the ACT student identification form with a photo if a valid identification card is not available.

1. How to confirm whether the ACT 2021 test centre will be closed or not?

Candidates must check the official website of the ACT for updates on the tests. They can check for updates on admission and test centre cancellation on their respective MyACT accounts.

2. Is social distancing protocols being followed at ACT Test Centre to avoid the spread of COVID-19?

Yes, All ACT test centres will maintain social distancing as per the CDC recommended guidelines.

3. Will masks be provided at the ACT test centre? 

Candidates must carry their own mask to the test centre. In case of failure to carry a mask to the test centre, they will be prohibited from entering the testing facility.

4. Do Students require screening tests before entering the ACT test centre premises?

Yes. Students will have to answer a few questions related to health and well being before entering the ACT test centre premises. The question will be related to any COVID 19 symptoms, testing done for COVID 19, travel history etc.

5. What are the items that need to be carried to the ACT test centre?

Candidates must carry with them an authentic photo identity card and the ACT hall ticket to the ACT test centre.

6. Is there a possibility of cancellation of the ACT test in the upcoming days?

Due to the current pandemic situation, there will be limited test centres and there is a possibility of cancellation of the tests in the upcoming days.

7. My ACT test was automatically cancelled and new test date and centre was allotted. Can I reschedule my test?  

Yes. You can reschedule the test by visiting your MyACT account. The test schedule can be changed free of cost.

8. Can I change my ACT test schedule if I do not feel well on the test day and cannot take the test? 

Yes. you can change the test schedule free of cost by visiting your MyACT account.

9. Does a successful ACT Registration guarantee the test to be conducted on the scheduled date and test? 

The registration of the test along with the test centre and date can change as a result of COVID-19 and as per the guidelines specified by the CDC.

10. Will there be any facilities for students with disabilities at the test centre?

Candidates with disabilities will have to inform the ACT support team and request any additional support at the test centres. Exceptions will be granted and considered only if it is pre-approved by the ACT authorities.
